This episode centers around the Baxter's and Hazel losing the family pet dog Smiley while on a trip to the Natural Bridge in Virginia. Hazel remarks at one point that she could drive to Virginia and get the dog and that it's only 300 miles away. Three hundred miles from Lexington Virginia in Rockbridge County where the natural bridge is located would not put the Baxter home in New York state as is commonly believed.
When Dorothy and Hazel are tucking Harold into bed behind them, leaned vertically against the wall, below two crossed American flags is what appears to be a toy M-16 rifle. It is black with a protruding, slightly curved magazine. It has a black pistol grip stock and hand guard. The toy rifle bares a strong resemblance to a Mattel M-16 Marauder. The Mattel toy rifle was the toy version of the M-16 rifle issued to troops in Vietnam. The real M-16 rifles were issued for use in Vietnam in 1963. However this episode aired on November 22nd 1962.
