This Show is Disgusting

Pageant Mothers should be rounded up, put on the next NASA shuttle and blasted into the sun. Harsh? Yes. These women deserve nothing less, exploiting their young daughters like this, just because 20 years ago their mothers put them though the same thing. Some of these young girls looked like real life plastic dolls, and they haven't even reached ten yet! These pageants undermine everything what it means to be a kid, a REAL kid. You know the ones who get to run around, act goofy and be silly, not spend day in day out leaning how to show off their bodies like some cheap whore(and wear just about the same amount of makeup as one) just so they can win a statue. This can not be healthy for such a young and still developing mind. All these pageant's teach these young girls is that this is acceptable behaviour from women. To be fair, all of these girls can grow up to be whatever they want, but its also sad to know that these girl can grow up and turn out just like their mothers and once again the cycle of exploitation will continue. "Toddlers and Tiaras" just shows how much these pageants need to come to an end, and allow kids to just be kids.

I would like to start off by saying that beauty pageants are an enlightening experience for young children. It makes them feel beautiful, and gives them self confidence. Activities like dance and cheerleading also require makeup, so I don't see how that is any different than beauty pageants. Those children still get to be kids. They do a couple beauty pageants a year. The rest of the time they are just like any other kid. The children who do beauty pageants love what they do, and they wouldn't want to stop even if their parents wanted them to. Parents who enter their children in beauty pageants love their kids just as much as other parents do. They sacrifice so much for them, like time, money, and getting them coaches. I do not think that anyone is in the position to judge beauty pageants, when they really don't know anything about them. I personally love beauty pageants, and this show, and people that say that they keep kids from being kids are just ignorant.
