There's a trend on YouTube that started a while ago called "*Show title* Out of Context." It really just involves taking random, absurd clips that are only a few seconds long, and playing them back-to-back. Ideally, they're moments that make sense when you're familiar with the show, with the lines/character actions feeling logical within scenes/episodes, but feeling unusual or weird when isolated. It works for bizarre shows (it was done years ago with Twin Peaks) but also works for comedic shows (there are some really good "Succession Out of Context" edits).

Wanted to ramble about that because The Kingdom II - like 1994's The Kingdom I - feels like watching four to five hours of "out of context" scenes. Maybe even more than the first part of this miniseries, The Kingdom II is just non-stop absurdity, and one of those rare shows/movies where the more lost I was, the better it got. It definitely felt like Lars von Trier was trying to be a little goofier and more broadly comedic/absurd with this second batch of episodes, and I think that this doubling down worked (for the most part).

I will say, I think this approach did run out of steam a little by episode 4 out of 4. I wasn't thrilled by the way this ended, and while season 1 of this show started pretty well and then built up to a great finale, I think season 2 started strong and then lost a little momentum near the end. But as far as a "sequel" goes, I think this did a good job of making an already crazy story even crazier. The Kingdom I and II are both kind of daunting, due to their length, but I feel like both more or less represent Lars von Trier at his best, and so these two batches of episodes do, I think, deserve a little more love.
