I have watched this movie a few times. This movie must be appreciated for it's simple and loving nature as it was intended. In these times when all we have to watch is violence and sex, it is so refreshing to see a story about loving siblings and how important family is to each other. I give this writer a thumbs up, particularly since it is his first screenplay and directorial experience. It takes someone special (how old is this screenwriter?!) to see life in such a warm and loving manner, yet also grasp the harsher realities of life. Great job and beautiful scenery. I found the deeper meaning in this film. It is worth watching if you want to smile and cry at the same time! The ending is the best, and great acting from Roseanna and Dee in their scenes together. Even Christopher Akins did a great job in his role as the dad. Be sure to watch in its entirety.

Warning: Spoilers
The movie was okay. It wasn't bad for two first time directors attempting to make a time period piece come to life. There are a few time period mistakes in the film, but nothing that most people would notice. As for the story, I think that it dragged on in the sense that the writer tried to keep you engaged by having the main characters confront different situations along their journey. It kind of reminded me of INTO THE WILD, with weak plot and writing. Production wise it was pretty good. I think that more time needed to be spent on story and character development. I give it a 5 out of 10 solely on the fact of the effort put forth to make a movie.
