Where's the Second Amendment?
rbr-412999 October 2023
While the series is outstanding this episode has a ludicrous premise. The victim championed a legislative initiative to ban handguns, because guns are evil. A fictitious handgun manufacturer is presented as the opponent to this "reasonable" project, as if it is the company's fault because a criminal uses a gun. The CEO of the handgun manufacturer predicts that Initiative 38 would fail because of polling data. What the screenwriter totally avoided mentioning is that Initiative 38 would be deemed unconstitutional. In the real world such efforts by the Left have been sued by the NRA and courts have upheld the second amendment. If the episode had been written to reflect reality then Crews would have championed the second amendment.
