Seems like another throwaway kids' show
BradenLambdin11 July 2021
The plot/concept is nice. The characters aren't very likable but they're least have minimal merit. They come off as tropey and annoying at times. I'm not the demographic for this show but I can recognize a GOOD kids' show when I see one, and this isn't particularly "good". It is simply not terrible and that's about it. Something else to hold a kid's attention. It is certainly better than The Patrick Star Show, which premiered on the same night and is significantly more brain-numbing.

Okay, I guess

Warning: Spoilers
It isn't a very terrible show, but not the best. It has some hidden fetishes, which some kids won't notice, I would recommend the show to 8-9+ but overall, it is a average show in my opinion.

Everything great about nicktoons rolled into one
BoxwoodExpress12 July 2021
Middlemost Post is Nick's first original, in-house cartoon in a while, because all they're focusing on now is spinoffs, reboots, etc. However, with a show like this on the horizon, we could have another hit property for the channel on our hands.

The show has all the makings of a great show. The animation is creative and expressive, utilizing mixed media just like Chowder and Flapjack.

Our three main characters are quite an unexpected trio, but work well with each other. Angus is a grizzled ex-sailor who tries to be a good guardian to Parker, and Parker is an optimistic ray of sunshine who just wants to be friends with everybody. Russell is a perfect team pet and comedy relief.

One thing I find interesting is that Parker is a reformed raincloud. He used to be a bad person, but is now becoming a good one. I love redemption and atonement messages, messages that show that no one is truly bad at heart. And it's quite personal for John Trabbic, who based this particular development on his recovery from a drug addiction.

The humor is childlike, but also smart for older viewers. In summation, the show is just so feel-good with its quirky characters and positive messages, we need more shows like this and I hope it becomes popular.

Cumulonimbecile 😠

The latest cartoon from Nickelodeon, Middlemost Post seems like it could fit in with the network's library of wacky cartoons. Upon watching the show, however, I find this to be among the worst shows Nickelodeon has to offer. From the awful writing to the annoying characters, this is a package that should've never left the mail room.

Created by John Trabbic III, Middlemost Post follows the escapades of a happy-go-lucky main character with his dimwitted friend, his cost cutting boss, and a deadpan neighbor as they try and brighten everyone's day with excellent service while also foiling the plans of a short, green, arrogant antagonist. Sound familiar?! It should because this show has almost the exact same set up as Nickelodeon's flagship cartoon, SpongeBob! The creators either didn't realize the similarities or didn't care. Either way, this makes the show come off as a shameless rip-off like Coconut Fred before it. Execution-wise, there are differences, but the biggest difference between the two is SpongeBob has a good execution and Middlemost Post does NOT! Each episode is just 11 minutes of the characters doing the most mundane stuff and it drags the pacing to a crawl. Want to see characters wait in line for some toast? Or characters racing a robot that cheats? Or better yet, characters trying to get across a curmudgeon's front lawn full of traps? No? Well that's too dang bad! That's exactly what you're getting with this show. Common sense is thrown out the window along with good world building and funny jokes. This world isn't well explored or fleshed out and the inhabitants are a bunch of mindless sheep. Then there's the humor, which is painfully unfunny as it relies heavily on gross out, butt jokes and obvious subversions. This show was already fighting a losing battle by being too similar to SpongeBob, but it lost my interest immediately because it's not even a well written show on it's own.

The characters are so annoying, sitting in a room full of woodpeckers would be more enjoyable. Starting with our leading cloud, Parker is a happy-go-lucky kid who likes doing good and helping others. While that sounds like he's a likable character, in practice his a loud, annoying and stupid twerp that's overdramatic about the smallest issues and values his boss' opinion way too much. Speaking off his boss, Angus is the rule abiding captain that Parker worships. He's also unfunny, not assertive, stubborn and pretty stupid. And the fact that he wastes an entire episode staring off into space while assuming the worst that could happen without his beanie makes me like him less as a character. Russell is the dimwitted walrus that has all the mail in her gut, Lily is a deadpan shop keeper whose personality begins and ends with her monotone voice, Miss Pam is the snarky owner of the local dinner, and Mayor Peeve is an evil politician that tries and fails to get rid of the Middlemost Post because his ego forbids him to get a life.

The voice acting is pretty good, though it could be better. Becky Robinson puts on a very convincing boyish voice, though I'd direct her to give a little more energy in her performance. John DiMaggio was excellent as Angus, making him sound gruff but friendly in his delivers. Kiren's monotone voice works for Lily, but I think she needs more voice acting practice to really go above and beyond what's expected. Colton Dunn did a good job voicing Peeve, though his voice could've been a little more gruff. While the voice acying isn't bad, it could use better voice direction.

Visually, this show has some really good animation provided by Yowza! Animation in collaboration with Nick. The character designs are very well crafted with them having different body times, big expressive mouths and appropriate attire. I really like how Parker and morph into anything at will and the animators do a really good job at showcasing his morphing powers. The character animation follows very natural with great use if squash and stretch and really good visual effects. The backgrounds are also very well detailed with the ship and the town looking like it has history and all the lands looking very distinct from one another. It's not enough to save the show, but the animation is still really good.

It'd be one thing if this show was just bad, but this show goes a step further and is shamelessly bad! Middlemost Post is a shameless SpongeBob rip-off with awful writing, annoying characters, and atrocious humor. Even with good animation and voice acting, this is still inferior in every way to the Sponge. You're better off just watching every episode of SpongeBob twice than sitting through one second of Middlemost Post -.-

Just Awesome

So colorful, creative, and has many teachable moments for children. Kudos to Cake in Space Music, and Matt & Tish Mahaffey for the brilliant theme song and score. Parker J Cloud is just the cutest character ever! Love it!

Middlemost Post: Maddeningly Mundane
seansohr16 May 2023
At some point in the mid-2000's, cartoons took a huge nosedive in quality. And I just don't mean a particular bunch of cartoons, but animation all across the board.

Funny, innovative, clever and well-written cartoons started being replaced with cartoons that were sadly lacking in character, humor, and sharp writing, relying more on loud randomness and gross-out humor, without understanding how shows like Ren & Stimpy made it work. This wasn't only the case with TV cartoons but movies as well (such as Chicken Little).

However, in the last few years, we started getting a few really good new shows: in addition to Hilda and The Cuphead Show on Netflix, Disney also gave us The Ghost & Molly McGee and Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur.

Nickelodeon, on the other hand.... hasn't improved much at all. Not long after aborting their ONLY decent show in over a decade (Glitch Techs) to Netflix and cutting it short, we got the dull and annoying Middlemost Post.

Middlemost Post is what can be best described as a series of nothingness. Middlemost Post is a show almost completely devoid of anything meaningful or fun, and only serves as a reminder of how far Nick has fallen, right down to the very concept.

Angus, a washed up fisherman befriends a sentient (and might I add obnoxious) cloud named Parker and her pet walrus, and the three start up a post office on Angus' shipwreck.

It should be no surprise that this is a complete bomb. There is no way a concept as poor as this could ever have been made into an enjoyable series, no matter whose hands it was in. This is a show that was doomed from the start.

Parker is an irritating protagonist. Imagine SpongeBob at his most obnoxious, increase that by a hundred, pitch up the voice, and you've got Parker. Beyond her being a cloud and being able to shapeshift, she has no depth. There's no point in talking about her pet walrus Russell, as she serves almost no purpose whatsoever, most of the time just sitting there with a dopey face.

Angus is really the only character with any likeability. He often serves as the voice of reason in these lame plots, and you can't help but feel bad for him sometimes, having to put up with Parker's antics all-day every-day. Still, he isn't a very interesting character, and has annoying running gag of screaming like a little girl.

Most of the other characters are bland and one-note: the mayor, his assistant, this weird grub thing that always speaks in a monotonous tone.... none of these characters are interesting or fleshed out at all.

Unsurprisingly, Middlemost Post was cancelled after only one year, with barely a season and a half's worth of content. It's a shock it didn't get canned sooner, because this is a show that is lacking in everything, from heart to originality to characters to humor.

Besides Angus being the only sane man, and a few neat character designs, I really can't think of anything positive to say about Middlemost Post. Avoid it like the plague.

johnnymarrero10 July 2021
Middlemost Post is already a must watch, This Show is so wonderful, colorful, funny and heartwarming all because of Parker J cloud, he has a lot of great potential of not just a great character but the show itself has huge potential for the future of Nickelodeon and I can't wait, like I said it's a must watch and I highly recommend it.

underrated cloud comdey
konataizumi200712 August 2021
This show is very underrated. It has been a while that we gotten a original cartoon that actually wants to be funny and have wacky animation and is character driven. Many shows want to be like crap like steven universe, craig of the greek and gravity falls so im just really happy there is a show that whats to have fun and brings back the weird fun stuff in cartoons again. This is definitely one of the most creative and unique cartoons i have seen in a long long long time. John Trabbic, a former SpongeBob artist's mind is all unfolded in this funny cloud show. Mount Middlempost is definitely somewhere you would want to visit with lots of interesting side characters like Lily, Ms. Pam and REGGIE. The most important part of the show, The main trio, Parker J Cloud, a former rain cloud, is very lovable and cute and cares about everyone on Mount Middlemost and makes sure everyone is happy. Angus, a retired caption, who is sorta the straight man of the three but definitely isn't afraid to join in the fun is sorta like Parker's older mentor and takes his job very seriously, sometimes a bit much. Russel is magical walrus who has a whole warehouse in her stomach, she doesn't do much but she is pretty doglike which is cute. So if you want a show that's funny, cute, wacky and overall looking for a good time, i suggest giving this show all the support it needs, given how nickelodeon treats their shows, CHECK IT OUT!

Thank Goodness Nick greenlit something other than a reboot/spinoff
BustedBlock15 July 2021
In recent Years Nick has started to air a bunch of reboots and spinoffs (The Casagrandes, Kamp Koral, and The Patrick Star Show) which all suck imo. MiddleMost Post however is an original cartoon that was greenlit by Nickelodeon and it is actually really good. It's got everything a good show needs, it's funny, it's got likeable characters, nice animation, very entertaining, and an interesting plot. The shows concept of delivering mail to everyone is kinda similar to a certain awful Nickelodeon show about two ducks delivering bread to everyone, however this show is actually good while Breadwinners was a bunch of cringe crap. I hope this show sticks around as I will definitely tune in to watch it, and while I love both Spongebob and The Loud House it's always nice to have more of a variety on a channel, especially if the new show is good like MiddleMost Post.

Best comedy cartoon in several years
playstationonward17 August 2021
I was expecting nothing but came out in love with this show. The characters are so sweet and oddly fleshed out and the interactions between them makes for fantasic comedy. Parker's optimism makes the show so light and lovely and the comedy of him taking situations to comedic heights due to his naivety is high. Angus and Lily are hilarious characters as well who are surprisingly layered and unlike most Nickelodeon cartoons feel like actual people rather than cardboard cutout sidekicks like every Nick show produced in the last 15 years. Angus is very unique as a mentor character to Parker and their bond is one I've never seen before in animation at all. Lily is sarcastic but never feels disgenuine, and her interests span more than just being the smart one. Russell is also not only a great plot device but probably one of the better non speaking animal buddies I've seen in a cartoon. The town too is full of funny extras, and everyone is complimented by some funny voice acting and animation which elevates the timing and pacing of the humor and the entire show in general.

Generally what I'm saying is this is a show that has great characters, which allows for everything else to be pretty stellar. The greatest thing is this show's restraint and pacing, making it genuinely surprising in how stories turn out and how jokes land, which in turn helps flesh out it's characters. Most Nick shows just throw everything at the wall with no regard to pacing or characterization, this one actually tries. It's a shockingly great show, one that is being heavily overlooked at the moment, probably due to being aired next to a mediocre Spongebob spin-off. If Nick was smart, this is what they should renew because it has only started and it's potential just keeps going up with each episode. Episode 6 in particular had me rolling laughing in both segments, and genuinely caring for the day to day antics of the characters. I'm sure the next episodes will be just as or more entertaining and I'm waiting to see them.

Then I learned the show is now on hiatus for no reason and it makes me wonder whether Nickelodeon will do what it usually does and kill it after 20-30 half hours and burn it off stupidly on Nicktoons. The fact I said this cartoon was good and it was on Nick in the year 2021 is some kind of miracle within of itself. It's the first cartoon on Nick since God knows how long to actually be a real, entertaining show. Please watch it and keep it on air. It's a funny show getting better with each ep that deserves more.

I LOVE THIS SHOW
danyellm-6626620 October 2021
I didn't think I would like Middlemost at first but after the first episode I LOVE IT!! Parker J Cloud's little voice is SO CUTE I could listen to him talk all day. I wish there were more episodes because between this show and SpongeBob I wouldn't have to watch anything else! Lol It's a great show because Parker, Angus and Russell together is like a real life family in a cartoon world!
