Clark has a framed list of Lois's Rules of Reporting. They are as follows: 1. Always know your source 2. Always make a good first impression (and don't screw up with the boss) 3. Do whatever it takes to get the story 4. If something seems too weird to be true, it usually is. 5. Never take deadlines too seriously 6. Triple check your facts 7. Put all the good stuff at the beginning [see goofs]
Cyborg, Black Canary, Impulse, and Aquaman are all seen via photographs in the Isis computers. This is the first time the whole Justice League is seen together.
The "magic language" Zatanna uses throughout the episode is actually backwards English ("Rood eht esolc " for "Close the door," etc), which is how she casts magic in the comics.
Tom Welling was originally supposed to direct this episode but got sick during prep and for part of the filming and so changed his directing schedule to the episode Injustice.
In the comics, Zatanna's father, Zatara, was a superhero magician who made his debut in Action Comics # 1 (1938), the same issue that introduced Superman. Zatanna made her debut in Hawkman (Vol. 1) # 4 (1964) where she went on an epic quest to find her father, who had gone missing. While she would ultimately find her father, Zatara tragically died in Swamp Thing (Vol. 2) # 50 (1986).
