Controversial topic, yet quite humorous.
MairegChernet16 March 2009
***MILD SPOILERS***

Oh what a surprise, Family Guy, known for poking fun at pop culture icons ridicules an ex football hero who is to this date much controversial. OJ is the victim this time, and FG takes a shot at the whole "Did he kill her?" controversy. In the episode Peter befriends OJ Simpson after playing golf with him and decides to bring him down to Quahog where he'd supposedly reshape his image. But that turns out as a rather failed attempt. Overall this episode was okay but not as good as it could have been. Weighing it with other episodes, this wasn't the best ever but still quite humorous.

Hits differently now.
3HK12 April 2024
I think we all know what happened (at the time of me writing this), so I won't repeat it here, but oh boy oh boy, this is quite a fun episode to revisit NOW of all times. This used to be just an 'average' episode back in the day, but to see what this episode is like now, oh man, it is a lot better. It definitely just hits different now that OJ is gone for good, now I can actually properly enjoy this episode as I always wanted to. Wasn't able to before, but now I can. Honestly quite brilliant, to say the least. The point being, if you are considering revisiting this episode, please do so! You won't regret it!

Downight awful, One of the worst episodes, The Conway Twitty gag ruined the entire episode(not that it was any good anyways).
Gameboy200720 March 2009
Warning: Spoilers
I use to really like Family Guy (especially the older ones) but episodes like this make this show very hard to like now. I can't believe how awful this episode was and this episode is all the proof you need to see how lazy the producers were and how bad the writing has become. I'm going to get right down to the point. This episode was pure garbage. The episode tries to make fun of O.J Simpson. I mean O.J? Isn't that a little old and hasn't the O.J case been done many years ago? We know he did it, America does. Get over it, he's in jail now.

The O.J thing is only the very beginning and is actually the least bad thing about this episode. Once again, the writers try to start the story out with a plot and then change it half way through the episode to another plot(where the O.J plot begins). It starts with Peter being irresponsible and acting like an idiot as usual. Lois is leaving him alone and he has to watch Stewie which of course he does a horrible job (who didn't see that coming). Then, they make Peter act like a teenage girl and have him invite Quagmire, Joe and Cleveland over for a sleep over which included, gossip, pillow fights, making out (I'm not kidding) and fighting which of course ended with Peter throwing up (which I may add is only a recycled animation). It gets even worse now, when Lois comes home, of course she's upset. Peter didn't watch Stewie and he ends up on the roof. What this episode does now totally ruined the entire episode and was downright inexcusable and VERY VERY VERY unfunny.

I have two words for you: Conway Twitty. Yes, Peter tells the audience hopefully this video of Conway Twitty will make Lois forget about their fight. Then the shows switches over to a Conway Twitty video. I'm not kidding. The video lasted for 3-4 minutes. Yes, seriously. They show the ENTIRE music video. This show has a knack for overdoing random jokes that are unfunny and that last way too long but this one was over the top. I had to change the channel. I turn back a minute later and it was still going. I changed the channel a second time. A minute later, I go back and it's STILL on!!!!! I don't understand what the writers were thinking. Oh wait, I do know, nothing. They had nothing good to write about so they decided to filter the episode with Conway Twitty to pass the time. I'm so disgusted by that. What does Seth think his fans are, retards? This episode was just an insult to the audience. Was that joke added to make us change the channel on purpose? Overall this episode is all the proof you need to see that this show is on the decline and that the writers have run out of any worthwhile material. There are obviously very few idea balls left in their manatee tank.

Oh, I forgot to finish summarizing the episode; so the 2nd half of the episode is with Peter hanging out with O.J. I don't even feel like summarizing the rest because it's not funny anyways and the Conway Twitty gag completely killed the episode anyways. My final word is this episode was awful and I would recommend to any fans of the show to skip this episode and never watch it. This episode is a huge insult to any fans of the show. This episode is a huge miss and if you watch the whole Conway Twitty video, that's 3-4 minutes of your life you can't get back. Don't say I didn't warn you.

One of the most original moment in animated tv shows
sergey-woropaew7 March 2019
Creators used 3 minutes live action sang by Conway Twitty as "distraction". And it becomes most original and unusual moments in animated tv history.

Seventh season & circling the drain.
pilgrimworker20 March 2009
Warning: Spoilers
This was a mediocre episode at best. A decent amount of animation was recycled and the *painfully* long cut to Conway Twitty was stupid and distracting. The Michael J. Fox joke wasn't funny and was in extremely poor taste.

On the up shot, there were a handful of funny scenes and jokes. OJ mistaking Stewie's head for a football was classic, as was the Brian sleeping gag. The appearance of Homer was worth a chuckle.

In summary, it was a very short episode with tons of "packing peanuts" scenes stuck in to pad it out to the 20 minutes. A weak entry to a weak season.

The writers owe me 3 minutes of my life
pikachufan7714 March 2015
Warning: Spoilers
I expected more from the episode. First, Lois goes somewhere away and tasks Peter to babysit Stewie. Then he(Peter) invites Joe, Cleveland and Quagmire over and they act really dumb. Believe me. Stewie somehow gets on the roof and gets stuck. Then Brian arrives. Coming up is a boring interview-thing. After that, Lois finds out Stewie is on the roof. Guess what comes next. That's right, if you already read the other reviews or saw the episode, you know. They put in a pointless video with Conway Twitty's music. And they put in the whole 3-minute video. Like, seriously? This is how the writers came up with that thing: Writer 1:The episode is very short. What will we do? Writer 2:How about a 3-minute video nobody will give a s--t about? Writer 1:Good idea! Then Peter keeps doing stuff with O.J. for the rest of the episode. If they could come up with something better to fill up the time, but no, they have to put a stupid video there.
