Literally Chalk lines on the floor

Warning: Spoilers
A totally captivating film that is all the more captivating as the actress in the lead role is already 'known' from 'My Feral Heart' which handles a difficult subject with sensitivity and a mature understanding of a Downs Syndrome child whose mother dies leaving the boy adrift in a community that barely understands him.

In this film, Shana Swash plays the other half or a married couple who slip from waving to drowning in an unstoppable sequence of events which leads understandably from precarious to dire in less time than it takes to draw the plans for their dreams in blackboard chalk on the ground.

I've certainly been in the situation where a reasonable place to stay suddenly stops being a home.. but never like this.. as a couple.

They soon run out of options as 'living in a car' in an ordinary street becomes unbeararble. The next unfathomable development leaves them separated and disconnected completely. As if nothing could possibly get worse.. a desparate move by Paul brings the nightmare to an end.

Hard to watch but a must watch

There but for the grace of God - a saying that is never more true than this film. A tale of true love in adversity, homelessness, addiction, modern slavery, music and a bottle of wine! The cast are superb and the storyline is absolutely accurate, despite what some critics say (I say this from a professional point of view - much as I wish it were not true, nothing depicted in this film is not happening in Britain today) You are invested in the characters from the get go and the film takes you on the rollercoaster that is homelessness, with some surprising twists, and one or two important cameos. The music is good too (not my taste but very accomplished). I didn't take my eyes off the screen and would happily watch this again. Now available on demand - I suggest you demand it.

Jane Gull's gritty, thought-provoking feature film, Love Without Walls, really grabs hold of you from the moment it begins. Unafraid to tackle the harsh realities of poverty-induced homelessness, modern slavery, addiction and even bad luck, this film also highlights the willingness of some people in today's society to turn a blind eye. Jane Gull's film cleverly takes us down a path that - luckily - many of us will never experience, but quite easily could, given the right circumstances.

The amazing lead actors, Shana Swash and Niall McNamee, and the super supporting cast, including the wonderful and much-loved Darren Kent (RIP), along with the original musical soundtrack do a fantastic job of bringing the characters to life. And although the film is a dark and sometimes harrowing account of a couple facing adversity, it also has moments of humour and a whole lot of heart.

If you missed this film at the cinema, it'll be streaming on demand somewhere, so please check it out online. It's an incredible film and well worth a viewing.
