Tyler Perry‘s most famous character, Madea, has appeared in nearly half the director’s films: a gun-toting, “Hallelu-yer”-shouting force of nature, and an outrageous drag tribute to his mother and aunt. But some films in the Madea Cinematic Universe are gleefully manic, while others arrive in what appears to be a half-finished state of sad melodrama and mediocrity. Not counting her cameo appearance in the otherwise Madea-free “Meet the Browns,” or the animated kids offering “Madea’s Tough Love,” here’s where to find maximum Madea mayhem:
10. “Madea’s Witness Protection”
To look at box office receipts, this one would appear to have been a fan favorite, the second-highest-grossing Madea movie to date. But it came along at a time when Perry was making minor noise about retiring the character, and it really shows. The film looks cheap even by Perry’s budget-minded standards, the jokes are flat, and...

David A. Arnold, a comedian and showrunner known for his standup work and as creator and showrunner of Nickelodeon’s “That Girl Lay Lay,” died unexpectedly on Wednesday. He was 54.
“It is with great sadness that we confirm the untimely passing of our husband, father, brother and friend, David A. Arnold,” Arnold’s family said in a statement. “David passed away peacefully today in his home and doctors have ruled the cause of death due to natural causes. Please keep our family in prayer and respect our privacy at this time as we are all shocked and devasted by this loss.”
Arnold’s death came as a surprise to industry insiders. He was affiliated with Kevin Hart, who produced Arnold’s second Netflix standup special, “It Ain’t for the Weak,” which debuted in July. The special revolves around routines focusing on Arnold’s family life as well as marital spats and entitled kids.

"Office Space... there's a comedy. They ought to call it Bobspace. It's all about the Bobs." If you watched the first season of Stan Against Evil (which I highly recommend), then you know that Stan (played by John C. McGinley) would rather just sit back in his chair and enjoy his retirement instead of getting blood sprayed on him all the time while slaying demons and saving the world. Well, in a new promo video released by IFC, McGinley gets to do just that, although what he ends up watching is himself as one of the Bobs in the cult classic comedy Office Space.

Every parent may say at some point, "My kid could be famous!" But it's not that easy.
Your kid may be a natural extrovert, and be bursting with confidence. But you need time and money to develop that talent. Headshots cost anywhere between $200 to $1000 dollars. An agent gets 10 percent of your paycheck. And acting classes are about $275 a month.

It’s been almost three weeks since Cougar Town returned to us, and its fourth season proves the series is better than ever.
Despite being one of the best comedies on TV, Cougar Town gets unfairly overlooked. Sure, it’s not as popular as ABC’s Modern Family or as grounded as NBC’s Parks and Recreation, but it effectively mixes goofiness and pop culture with pathos every week — a difficult combination to pull off.
So why has it struck out with a lot of TV viewers? Much of it probably has to do with its first season and title, as neither is indicative of what Cougar Town has become over the past few years. Ever since the show stopped focusing on...

Michael Westen is about to get caught up with a dirty cop on "Burn Notice" -- although you wouldn't know it to look at the guy.
The USA series has cast Antonio Jaramillo ("Meet the Browns," "Savages") in an upcoming episode, Zap2it has learned exclusively. He'll play a "slick" Miami Pd detective named Garza.
The character is an ends-justify-the-means kind of guy, meaning he's not necessarily against bending (or outright breaking) the rules if it results in putting criminals away. He also loves using the power that comes with a badge.
Sounds like just the kind of guy that Michael (Jeffrey Donovan) and his mates would love taking down a peg or two, doesn't it? They'll get their chance when Garza targets a newly released prisoner, who in turn seeks out Fiona (Gabrielle Anwar) for help.
Jaramillo's other credits include episodes of "CSI: Miami" and "Outlaw" and the short-lived 2006 series "Fashion House.

It looks like 2012 will be a major year for Bonnie on The Vampire Diaries.
The CW hit has already cast Persia White as this witch's estranged mother; and now Robert Ri'chard has landed the role of Jamie, a potentially recurring love interest for Jeremy's scorned ex.
The actor - whose credits include Veronica Mars and Meet the Browns - will debut on the 12th episode of this season, which also features the first appearance by Bonnie's mom. Coincidence? No, reports E! New.
Look for these characters to have a close connection.

I promise, this is almost over. The Hunger Games casting I mean. When Lionsgate started strategically releasing the cast members who were set to play nameless kids marched to their deaths [1] in a televised battle royal, we debated how to handle it. Eventually we settled on the fact that The Hunger Games is a massive property and it should all be covered. So, once we started, it's kind of our duty to see it through. Finally though, the slow trickle of names is nearing an end. The Hunger Games has begun shooting in North Carolina under the direction of Gary Ross and, in March of next year, we'll finally get to see Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson fight for their lives. I would bet we evensee a trailer of some sort at Comic Con. Only a few key roles have yet to be filled and three of them were just announced.

The "House of Payne" spinoff received the enormous additional episode order after only 10 episodes on the network.
