Nice fast movie.

Nice fast movie in which still time is found to make the struggle of the main character with loneliness palpable. His loneliness is the result of all the people around him not communicating with him about wat matters because they think they already exactly know what he wants and needs. It was nice to be able to recognize every inch of the streets and buildings and places. As an Amsterdammer, I personally feel offended by the way the authorities are portrayed in the movie (police and 'handhaving'). Such use of force simply does not occur in such cases. I think the creator was once approached by 'handhaving' and that his ego couldn't handle that, so he still had bone to pick.

Warning: Spoilers
I watched the movie on a whim when I saw the trailer and I was presently surprised. Usually Dutch movies don't have a high reputation but I really loved the vibe of this movie. The setting in Amsterdam is really nice and you feel connected to the main character Paul. I felt his loneliness, his ambition to do better but also how he gets overwelmed in certain situations. Also loved the choice of soundtracks in the movie. Which suits the whole career of Paul by being a playlist curator. The fun part is that in the end, you watched a whole movie that only took place 24hrs in the lives of the characters.

Just a nice movie to watch in a cinema or on a rainy day at home.
