Better Goff Dead, Indeed
tristan_193 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This episode brings the series to a boiling point. After the multiple twists at the beginning, learning that Harcourt and Economos knew about Murn, and letting us know for sure that Murn is on our side, we have one of the most nail biting scenes of the series, where Vigilante and Peacemaker have to escape the cops. The humor is still on point. So is the character development.

Sophie gets a lot more to do, and the actress is better than ever, pulling out the Goff attitude like a boss. Just when you get super attached to her, she gets taken over, and the end of the season is taking shape. That whole montage on the song 'Monster' is one of the most effective scenes yet. The whole police force gets brutally invaded, and the butterflies are coming public, twisting the story of course.

On a personal level, Adebayo gets a big surprise, as Peacemaker's diary makes its comeback. She has to deal with the immediate effects. Emilia and Chris share a moment, showing that the team may not be so broken after all.

Everytime I watch a peacemaker episode it makes my Thursday better. The plot twists. Idk where this is heading to (thought I had an idea) but what matters is it keeps on dropping fire episodes every week.

The intro is unskippable.

Vigilante made me laugh at pretty much every line he had. This episode had everything, can't wait to see the next episodes as the season keeps going uphill.

MY FAVORITE MONSTER!
wetmars4 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Well, that was UNEXPECTED that "Murn" wasn't going to kill her, and isn't like any other Butterfly. The real Murn was a murderer having dark and twisted thoughts. This Butterfly wasn't like any other Butterfly. It was overly sensitive and abandoned by its kind. The butterfly took over the "worst person", having struggles over reliving its host's memories. Daaaaang, character exploration! I'm kinda glad that we didn't go over the betrayal route because that would be too obvious and the team has to relocate to another location and stuff. Also, the scene with Peacemaker answering kids' questions was funny. Meanwhile, Chris' dad is out of prison thanks to the evidence he has, convincing the two Detectives. He gets in a pickup truck telling his member that he made a mistake, and that was making his son live, and plan to kill him soon.

Later, Chris is at home feeding both of his pets with Vigilante coming to visit him. Goff draws with the liquid they like to drink a Peace symbol. This leads the two to communicate with it through taps on its glass container. God, it's so funny where Vigilante asks any question that doesn't require a yes or no answer as the Police surround the trailer. The arguments between Vigilante and Peacemaker are top-notch. "Oh! Okay, I see. I see how you are. Your preferred conversation partners are Eagly and Goff! Neither of who are capable of speech! Try introspection on that, REDACTED!" Bro, I am dead. Screaming intensifies. To be fair, I relate to Peacemaker's frustration as I rather speak to my cats rather than humans.

Murn calls Vigilante which Peacemaker takes, he tells them what's happening and they escape through a skylight and hide in the trees behind the trailer before the door's kicked down. Of course, they had to bring Goff which I wouldn't blame them, but Vigilante loses his balance and falls out of the tree LITERALLY crushing the glass container underneath him and letting Goff out, who immediately takes over Detective Song's body. I have to say, that is nightmare fuel material. There is no way you can get rid of that butterfly going through your mouth. Peacemaker and Vigilante escape and return to base camp learning the source of the cow. Best boy Eagly taking down down those officers. "Eagly is hardcore, man!" Agreed. I feel quite bad for Fitzgibbon as he has great chemistry with Song asking her many questions and worrying. Later, Song calls some butterflies and orders them to attack and take over many humans in the Police Department.

I have to say, that song "Monster" is a BANGER. Always keep them coming, James Gunn. Poor Fitzgibbon. I adored his character. And I did not expect the new Sheriff in town to not be a Butterfly in the first place. Wow. Adebayo has a brief discussion with her girlfriend about her struggles in which, the girlfriend responds that she should leave. Deep! We see Auggie going to his secret room to retrieve his White Knight armor which I have to say - BADASS! After the invasion of the prison, the whole "squad" walks in a hallway smiling creepily. Sheriff do be giving off Joker vibes, not going to lie. God, that piano scene is AMAZING. We have a heart-to-heart scene between Peacemaker & Harcourt. Some of the members watch the news of the Butterfly-riddled police revealing to the world about the news and they have his diary which reveals to have secrets. Because of this, they aim to stop him by whatever means necessary. Jesus Christ, what an ending!

Overall, it's filled with memorable scenes, an epic soundtrack, comedy, brilliantly written, tension, the plot is improving, well-played, great acting, tight pacing, and especially character development like Harcourt where she doesn't think that Peacemaker isn't a total piece of REDACTED. My favorite scene has to be the invasion part. I can barely describe how "awesome" that whole scene was. The soundtrack perfectly fits in that scene.

I can't wait for the next two episodes, and there is so much speculation going on. Certainly, there will be someone who will become a Butterfly. Brutal action scenes to come, gruesome gone, and more "WTF" moments to come. The upcoming duel between Peacemaker and his father is going to be legendary!

10/10.

Gunn is back!!!
Joshumms3 February 2022
Episodes 4 and 5 were weaker for me and I think it may have been because of a different director. This episode has the best balance of humor, heart, and action out of all the episodes. The Murn thing is very well done and it makes his character much better than before. The last 10 minutes are weird but I like it. This episode is really ramping up and getting more intense and I'm very excited for the next 2.

I never I mean never rated any show, episode, or movie over a 6 the past 3/4 years. This series and especially episode 6 has renewed my faith that great television in the right hands can happen. Not going to spoil any of it but anyone who has doubts about this show just watch thru episode 6 before you bail (you won't be sorry).

This is the episode we finally start getting some serious answers. Not to everything, but to enough to start driving the pot along again. The action is fantastic as usual and the cg work in this episode is definitely top notch. Honestly went into the show with a 50/50 mindset but by this point I would call myself a fan.

Just Keeps Getting Better
MamadNobari978 February 2022
I just binged all the episodes and conveniently this episode dropped as soon as I finished ep 5, so I'm really glad I'm caught up on the show now.

This show is really entertaining from the beginning, and this episode is really good just like the other ones, and even better.

First of all, I gotta applaud James Gunn's choice of music, he kills it every time with the perfect music choice for the scenes. I don't know how he even does it.

The plot progresses a lot further in this episode and now we have two major antagonists.

I gotta say, the wk stuff kinda got out of hand this episode and it's especially weird coming from James Gunn. Didn't mind the wk stuff from the previous episodes because they were brief and quick but this one was too on the nose.

I like that James Gunn, at least in DC (and tbf in GOTG2 too), doesn't just find a boring forgettable villain to throw at the "hero". Even though this one is really similar to the Starfish from The Suicide Squad, but it's still an antagonist that you surely will not forget.

I think the twists and turns of this show are great, even though you can see most of them coming from a mile away, it's still nice to have that mystery and intrigue in the plot so the audience is interested to see what happens next.

As for the characters, Peacemaker and Harcourt have a nice heart-to-heart scene together. Vigilante is dumber and goofier as ever. I don't think I really care about Adebayo's wife to be honest, but it's gotta be in there I guess. I like that Sophie's role is getting bigger now and that scene with her in the police station was great, complemented by a great song. Also Christopher Heyerdahl was really great in this episode, it also has a post-credit scene so don't miss it.

Also you can't deny that White Dragon's suit is dope af.

All in all, it's a really good episode. The plot moves forward and we get more information about the Butterflies. The acting is good and the music is really great. My only little problem with the show as a whole is the editing and cinematography, mostly editing. Most fight scenes have quick cuts and the camera is way too close to the action and faces that you can't concentrate and understand what's happening. Other than that, the show is really enjoyable.

Warning: Spoilers
Plot moved so much this episode! Great writing. Loved every bit of it.

The Murnn secret was rather quickly resolved in a way that actually made sense, which I appreciate.

Even the piano playing part with Peacemaker was so great. One of the best hero characters we've seen so far in DCEU. I'm sad that Sophie got taken out but she really is a fantastic actor (Annie Chang).

The comedic parts never lost its edge and I laughed out loud a few too many times this episode.

Excellent episode!

An improvement.
forpassord14 April 2022
The series is actually getting a little better more or less each episode. This episode seamed to finely have toned down the infantile humor to some degree at least, thicken the plot some more, and in general continue the slight incremental improvement from the third/fourth episode in this series.

Christopher Heyerdahl is amazing as always...

... so please don't miss an after-credit scene with him.

Excellent episode, with Adebayo's "family" drama being ,as usual, the only weak point.

Everything else is great. Wonderfull perfomance on Chukwudi Iwuji part.

Murn After Reading
Prismark1015 April 2022
Wow that really was John Cena playing the piano. His wrestling entrance theme should had been called 88 keys.

There is certainly more plot development and it comes from Murn who explains more about the butterflies.

It seems everyone knows about Murn apart from Peacemaker and Vigilante.

They have their own issues as they try to evade the police.

The White Dragon plot is also developed. Auggie is out to kill his son.

At times the humour still lapses on infantile which tilts the show out of balance. It still needs reigning in a bit more.

At least there are now two clear set of villains for Peacemaker to contend with and find a space cow.
