Original choices to play Vikram and Vedha were R Mahadvan reprising his role of Vikram from Tamil version and Shahrukh Khan as Vedha.But Shahrukh Khan declined the film for unknown reasons and R Mahadvan didn't have dates as he was shooting for Rocketry 2022.

Saif Ali Khan and Aamir Kahn were finalized to play the leads but after the production got delayed due to COVID pandemic Aamir Khan left the film.Finally Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan were signed.

Composer Sam C.S., who scored the original film in Tamil & its soundtrack, makes his composing debut in the Hindi remake with "Bande", a remake of the original "Karuppu Vellai." The original singer Shivam also made his Hindi singing debut with this remake.
