One of the great American poets Hart Crane in his brief and tragic life became myth and legend. Born to wealth and tormented by his relations and homosexuality Crane sought solace in drink and art. "In Search of Hart Crane" delves into the man's personal life with priceless interviews of people who knew him and readings of his best known works. This is an old-fashioned documentary with limited images and sound focusing on the interviews to tell and embody the story revealing a portrait of the man. Crane's sexuality is barely discussed and the lack of interviews or mention of the people Crane inspired limits a proper perspective on Crane's influence and legacy. Nevertheless this is perhaps the best and most important documentary on the poet and is a must see for lovers of poetry and art in general.
