Another win for Frictional Games!
adypunk27 October 2020
I'm a big fan of Frictional Games. Their last game Soma was one of my favourite gaming experiences ever. This game has similar mechanics and a story which slowly unfolds itself the more you play. The shear mystery of the situation is the key motivator early on in the game, that being said the first 2 puzzles to solve were frustratingly difficult due to elements being difficult to see in the darkness, It is possible some people may give up early on, especially if they are not familiar with a game like this. However getting past the early difficulty- story becomes more and more intriguing and the puzzles get more and more satisfying. I would say after getting past the first 2 hours of play I was gripped until the end! How Frictional tell their stories requires such admiration. With characters, notes and other findings slowly piecing together the mystery. Top work in this game. Really enjoyed it. Eagerly awaiting their next release.

Could've been a masterpiece

Warning: Spoilers
I'm so pissed right now after just finishing it. As I dived deeper into the story, into the game I got more and more curious but lost interest as it became so extended, so annoying. I know there are different endings so looking up for the two others but the ending I've finished with was deeply disappointing for me. Without spoilers; the ending is empty, not even close to what throughout the gameplay was expecting. I was very excited to playing it as I love science fiction and this selfish, family driven ending pissed me off. If you are fan of psychological horrors and love a good puzzle then definitely play it! I'd still recommend it. I am just pissed :)

Always exquisite level of storytelling and game design. This is horror perfection.

Boring. it's been done before

Warning: Spoilers
Man this game was worse then death stranding. All you do is walk, light candles and pick up matches and talk to your baby bump. In the first part she talks soooo much. The actress is clearly not French and the fake accent gets annoying really fast. It's just a bunch of random series of events with no context or understanding of what's going on. They tried to be like layers of fear with the story done by narration and pictures but it just fails. There's barely monsters or anything scary. There's many bugs and this is a full release. It's a big SKIP on this one. Thanks Steam for the refund XD

had a lot of potential but was disappointing

I was very excited about this game, for me amnesia the dark descent was one of the best horror games ever, i liked machine for pigs too, of course not as good as the first one but still a good game, but amnesia rebirth It was one of my most disappointing gaming experiences. The game was going well until the sewer part after that it was just disappointment, I found this system of travel between dimensions with the artifact very bad and very messy, the way it was built and used in the game is very strange, not to mention that the other world it's totally misused, it's empty and generic and has a very poorly told story, I think it would be better if the whole game takes place in the desert in a temple or something like that at the beginning of the game, the normal world scenarios are good, the other world has some good ones but most are ugly, generic and empty. But the worst comes now, the sanity system is in this game like in the first one, so far so good, but in this game as your character is pregnant you need to stay calming the baby in the belly all the time, this is one of the most annoying things in the game, you already have the sanity to worry about and now you still have to take care of the baby, there are certain moments when these two systems come together and it becomes something very frustrating, you should only have the sanity system because the baby's system is boring and you need to calm him down every minute. Another thing that bothered me a lot is that there is no way to die in the game, this totally takes the fun and fear out of the game, you are no longer afraid or afflicted by the monsters because when they catch you you go back in time and the monster stays where he is caught you instead of resetting like in other games, sometimes you go back in time when the monster catches you and goes an area ahead of him making the game's difficulty completely zero. But the game still has some decent things like the music, the characters are interesting even (not all), the puzzles and the monsters, the story is even good despite some things I mentioned before and some meaningless moments, and the match system is cool, I forgot to mention that the lamp system is horrible, it is simply useless because the oil runs out VERY quickly. Recently released the trailer for amnesia the bunker, it looked very interesting but I'm not going to create hype because the last time it didn't work out, but I hope it's a good game and that it doesn't deviate too much from what amnesia is. (sorry if some things are incorrect, english is not my native language)
