Britney Spears is one of numerous female pop stars who will be forever compared to Madonna. Fascinatingly, Spears said two of Madonna’s songs sound timeless to her. The two songs have nothing in common.
Britney Spears called 2 Madonna songs ‘iconic’ in an essay she wrote for Rolling Stone
Rolling Stone ranked Madonna No. 36 on their list of the best artists of all time. As part of that article, the “… Baby One More Time” star explained why she admires the Queen of Pop. “Madonna was the first female pop star to take control of every aspect of her career and to take responsibility for creating her image, no matter how much flak she might get,” she wrote. “She’s proved that she can do so many different things — music and movies and being a parent, too.

Miley Cyrus Confesses She'd Rather Stay At Home Than Go Out In Revealing Interview With Ronan Farrow
Miley Cyrus covers the March issue of W magazine with a risqué photo spread and an even more revealing interview conducted by Ronan Farrow.
Cyrus has been taking over pop culture for the better part of the past year, with the release of her groundbreaking singles “We Can’t Stop” and “Wrecking Ball,” the headline grabbing performance at the VMAs and the release of her chart-topping, well-reviewed album Bangerz. She’s also been twerking up a storm, posing nude and presenting an image of herself that is so anti-Disney it demands to be noticed.

We saw a completely different side of Britney in ‘I Am Britney Jean,’ and I think people are underestimating how much it could help her career. In case you weren’t planning to go to her Las Vegas show, you will want to after seeing the new documentary.
Everyone knew that Britney Spears could dance. We’ve all seen “Slave 4 U.” Everyone knew that she did elaborate sets. We saw clips of her Circus tour — some of us were even there. However, we never got to see the behind-the-scenes footage or the way that the pop star helps with every piece of her performance. After watching I Am Britney Jean, I’ve got to say I’m completely impressed.

So everyone's going crazy because Nicki Minaj tweeted that she locked lips with the Queen of Pop, Madonna, on the set of the music video for "Give Me All Your Love," the buzzed about first single from Madonna's forthcoming 12th studio album.
Apparently, kissing Her Madgesty is oh-so good … "Oh My f'ingggg Gahhhh!!!!! Madonna jus kissed me!!!!! On the lips!!!!!!! It felt sooooo good. Soooo soft!!!! *passes out* aaahhhhh!!!!!!!!!" Nicki tweet-screamed to all of her Brabz and Kenz late last night. She continued her swoon-athon with a series of tweets (which you can check out after the jump!) for over an hour after.
Which got us thinking about what a kiss from Madonna really means. Of course, any time Madge locks lips with another lady, our mind is immediately drawn back to the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards, where the Queen and the Princesses – that's Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera, for...

She's released a single, a video and teasers of Femme Fatale, but Spears herself has been holding off on public appearances.

On Friday, Britney Spears took another teasingly small step in promoting her upcoming Femme Fatale album, releasing a video in which she announced that she'll perform on "Good Morning America" on March 29, the day the LP drops.
The short video clip temporarily calmed the increasingly anxious Britney fans, who had been wondering, "Where is Britney?" It's been six weeks since first single "Hold It Against Me" was released. Since then, Britney has hosted a Q&A session with fans on Twitter and premiered the song's video on MTV, but she's been largely missing from the public eye.
We know the pop princess is still busy putting the finishing touches to her album — she tweeted a picture of her and producer will.

Note to all DJ's: If Madonna's in the house, don't you dare play a Britney Spears track! The queen of Pop, who appeared in Spears' latest documentary: Britney: For The Record, reportedly lost her cool when a DJ played a Britney track during a party on Monday night. Madge was at personal trainer Tracy Anderson's birthday bash at Hell's Kitchen gay bar in The Ritz when the incident occurred. "She flipped out, stormed upstairs, and spent the rest of the night aggressively making out with Jesus [Luz, her new boy toy]," a spy told the...

Britney Spears drew a crowd of 3.7 million viewers who tuned in to watch her TV documentary on Sunday.
The pop star talked about the series of public meltdowns that led to her two hospitalisations earlier this year in MTV special Britney: For the Record.
Spears welled up with tears during the 70 minute interview, as she spoke about losing custody of sons Sean Preston, three, and two-year-old Jayden James, and her failed marriage to former dancer Kevin Federline.
The show's ratings surpassed nearly every major show with the exception of the annual Video Music Awards, according to network bosses.

Without Britney Spears, what would MTV have left? A few thousand ex-Real-World contestants, the mummified body of John Norris, and hundreds of girls screaming during the Hills After Show, their cheap jersey Lauren-Conrad-Collection dress/tents billowing in the breeze? She's their go-to product, their guaranteed VMAs hook, because even if all she does is show up, and all Britney ever does these days is show up, she's bound to make news. I pondered all this while watching the last five minutes of the "live" countdown to Britney: For The Record, Britney's documentary/Circus promo/infomercial. The whole thing, as they repeatedly told us before breaking for perfume commercials, was brought to us commercial-free by Britney's two fragrances, Curious and Fantasy. Can a commercial tell you that something is commercial-free without all human logic snapping like a twig? Evidently, yes. I've never sampled Britney's perfumes, but judging by the documentary, they probably.

It also pulled in a 3.5 rating in the network's target demo of persons 12-34, tripling the time period average in that demo and all others.
The documentary, part of Spears' career relaunch, provided insight into pop princess' rough last few years and into her paparazzi-filled everyday life.

Britney Spears blames the paparazzi for her infamous meltdown - insisting their constant pursuit for snaps led her into a downward spiral.
The star was hospitalised twice earlier this year and lost custody of her sons Sean Preston, three, and two-year-old Jayden James after a series of public meltdowns, including a headline-grabbing incident when she shaved off all her hair.
The pop superstar has since got her life back on track, winning three gongs at the MTV VMAs in September and enjoying huge success when her comeback single Womanizer made the biggest chart jump to number one in Billboard Hot 100 history.
Speaking in her new tell-all MTV documentary, Britney: For The Record, Spears analyses what led to her epic fall from grace, and decides the hordes of paparazzi that constantly follow her played a huge part in her breakdown.
She explains, "I used to be a cool chick. But I feel like the paparazzi has taken that away from me - like, the way I used to live my life. I used to be a cool chick but I'm not anymore."
And the star admits she didn't do herself any favours - because she surrounded herself with people who didn't have her best interests at heart.
She adds, "I had let people into my life that were just bad people. You're so busy you don't see what's going on. You don't have time to stop and think. ...It's important to have good people around you."...

Britney Spears has realised her marriage to Kevin Federline was a mistake - because she tied the knot for all the "wrong reasons".
The pop superstar stunned fans when she announced her engagement to backing dancer Federline in 2004 after just three months together.
They wed two months later in a surprise ceremony in California, officially becoming man and wife in October.
Spears filed for a divorce from Federline in 2006, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason behind the split. The divorce was finalised in July last year.
And the singer, who gushed about her love for Federline in their 2005 MTV reality show Britney + Kevin: Chaotic, has confessed she didn't know what she was letting herself in for when she walked down the aisle with her former beau.
In a candid new documentary, Britney: For The Record, the singer says, "I think I married for the wrong reasons.
"Instead of following my heart and doing what made me really happy, I just did it for the sake of the idea of everything."
Federline was granted sole custody of the former couple's sons Sean Preston, three, and two-year-old Jayden James after Spears had a series of public meltdowns, including a headline-grabbing incident when she shaved off her hair.

Britney Spears' comeback is bittersweet - because the star feels "no excitement, no passion" for singing after her infamous breakdown.
The star was hospitalised twice earlier this year and lost custody of her sons Sean Preston, three, and two-year-old Jayden James after a series of public meltdowns, including a headline-grabbing incident when she shaved her head.

The star's fortune is being kept under indefinite control by father Jamie as part of a co-conservatorship agreement with the courts - but Spears is wary that those closest to her are stifling her creativity.
She continues, "I think it's too in control. If I wasn't under the restraints I'm under, I'd feel so liberated. When I tell them the way I feel, it's like they hear but they're really not listening."
And Spears, who is enjoying success in the U.S. and U.K. with new single Womanizer, is convinced she is still paying for the breakdown she suffered in the public eye.
She adds, "If you do something wrong in your work, you can move on, but I'm having to pay for a long time. I never wanted to become one of those prisoner people. I always wanted to feel free."
And even though her "weird" life is all she's known, Spears didn't realise how famous she was until her breakdown.
