Suspense and tension increase in this great thriller adaptation
Shadowboy_25cm27 June 2022
Since the first episode it's clear: this show is more about characters and their development and less about senseless action.

The action is here, where it is needed and when the action is needed, the melee combat scenes come intense, focussed and feelable like you're directly there. Great.

Bridges' performance is physical and very precise, and his acting is stunning.

John Lithgow is like a clockwork and keeps his cool, even in failures, because he's not done yet, but is still very empathical and multi-layered.

Excellent cinematography and atmosphere.

The tension and suspense are increasing as you also get more backstory and more character development. The story continues and keeps me gripped and hooked.

Highly recommended.

Great storyline and acting. Commercials are brutal

Great story so far and of course Bridges shines along with Lithgow. I'm really enjoying the story as it plays out, but man I forgot why I watched so many streaming services. The commercials on FX have gotten worse and worse. I feel like I can't remember what's going on there are so many interruptions. FX offers some great award winning television, but they need to go to cable or something. I can't with these commercials every 6 minutes of storyline. Terrible way to watch a interesting show.

Things are picking up

This episode is a bit slow but still good, the plot twists that were revealed throughout the episode were great (though one was easy to pick up on). The acting and storytelling are great. Jeff Bridges, John Lithgow, and Amy Brenneman are all great.

This show is which is already very interesting just got better with that Big "Reveal". Non linear narration is awesome with Aghan story backdrop. Expectations are only getting higher every episode.

The episode is beautiful, wonderful, nice, everything in the episode is beautiful, I liked it very much, you deserve 10. Everything is beautiful, it was a terrible beginning, and how did this happen? We knew why the character's attachments are so great. I expect the best characters in the series to appear. It could be the best series, a terrible beginning, beautiful, and a great ending.

A Head Scratcher
arossjr-9347615 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I am very drawn into this show with the characters, the plot, stunts, and set pieces. Acting is top-notch, the reveals are timely, and propulsive, but this episode made me question one choice they made that runs contrary to the protagonist's previous behavior.

Why didn't he finish the hitman? The dogs had him down and he put a bullet in him. But not the head? Everyone else who came for him was dispatched thoroughly, but not this "highly touted" hitman? As soon as they showed him, gut-shot, in the back of a car, I realized it was a plot device. But why? Makes no sense. All we know is he'll be back for a bigger, higher-stakes confrontation? Why him? Makes no sense. I'll watch, but with a cynical eye.

Episode 3

Warning: Spoilers
A big improvement here, but not enough for me to call this a good show just yet.

They seem to throw logic out the window in every conceivable way, which is alarming given these "high-brow" shows should focus on that.
