Paul McCartney kicked off his "Out There!" tour in a big way. The Beatles alum played a show in Brazil over the weekend, surprising fans by playing Beatles songs that they had never heard live.
The 70-year-old singer dusted off Beatles tracks that had yet to be performed on stage, Billboard reports, including “Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite,” "All Together Now," “Lovely Rita,” and “Your Mother Should Know” -- take a listen above. The songs were recorded at various times during the Beatles' career: "Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite" was featured on the band's 1967 album, "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band," along with "Lovely Rita," while "Your Mother Should Know" is a track off of The Beatles' "Magical Mystery Tour" album, and "All Together Now" debuted on the "Yellow Submarine" soundtrack.

It’s a bird, it’s a plane, it’s Howard Wolowitz returning from space! Our favorite Nasa astronaut (no offense, Buzz Aldrin) landed home safely during tonight’s episode of The Big Bang Theory, but didn’t quite receive a hero’s welcome. In my favorite episode of the season, Howard was abandoned by all his loved ones, while Penny and Amy proved that girls rule and boys (like autotrophs) drool.
Howard had a panic attack while parachuting down in the space capsule, but managed to regain his sanity on solid ground. He exits the plane and is greeted by chants of “Howie,...

Who hasn't dreamed of space travel? Cirque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberté had the rare chance to visit this most exotic world, after enduring a rigorous training regimen of course, in 2009, becoming the first Canadian space tourist. Filmmaker Adrian Wills (All Together Now) followed the eccentric entrepreneur and circus man on his journey, gaining new insights into the life of astronauts along the way to the stars, and emerged with Touch the Sky, opening in select Cineplex theatres May 18.
Cineplex recently had a chance to speak with the director about making the documentary, working with Laliberté and being accepted into the astronaut community.

Last year director Robert Zemeckis started work on his 3D motion capture CG animated film Yellow Submarine based of the classic album and animated film from The Beatles. He had cast Cary Elwes to play George Harrison, Dean Lennox Kelly to play John Lennon, Peter Serafinowicz to play Paul McCartney and Adam Campbell to play Ringo Starr. It doesn't look like the movie is going to happen anytime soon.
Accroding to THR Disney has killed the film project due to the poor performance of Mars Needs Moms this past weekend, which Zemekis produced through his Image Movers. The $150 million dollar CGI animated movie only made $6.9 million at the box office. It 's also reported that there were budget issues as well. But it was the Mars box office return that put the final nail in the coffin. That was a huge loss!

Robert Zemeckis and Walt Disney Pictures are working through a legal maze to see if they can do a motion capture remake of Yellow Submarine, the trippy 1968 animated film that featured songs by The Beatles. Zemeckis and Disney have been negotiating with the lawyers representing the songs of the artist, the rights holders to the original movie and anyone else who has a vested interest in seeing some bucks come from this.
The story broke in Variety and Disney didn't want to confirm or deny their story. According to the trade Zemeckis wants to use 16 classic Beatles songs like "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band", "When I'm 64" and "All Together Now". There's no indication yet as to what the storyline would be in the new Yellow Submarine; the original had the Beatles (voiced by sound-alike actors and not the original band members) venturing to a psychadelic fantasy place called Pepperland threatened by Blue Meanies.

I'm not sure which one of the follow techniques annoys me more when it comes to movies: performance capture or 3-D. Sure, I'll give both of them a chance at every turn, but both seem so pointless. I have a hard time looking at one or the other as anything more than a gimmick to distract me from other areas in which the films are lacking. Had Polar Express used traditional animation it could have been far more magical with more time spent on story and less time spent on supposedly bleeding-edge technology. Had Beowulf been made as a live-action feature instead of a lame-duck attempt at creating an edgy performance capture piece it could have been great. How will A Christmas Carol turn out on November 6? Who knows? I'm hoping for the best, but I can't say I am personally all that excited about what Zemeckis is cooking up next.
