Boring
jagfannn25 October 2020
The story was OK but the female lead was so subdued, she came off as over medicated, no energy or emotion. The issue was highlighted by the good job the rest of the cast did. Prepare to be lulled

Decent movie.
MIssM1912 October 2020
Josie and Alex are friends, they've known each other since college. Josie doesn't know Alex is in love with her. One of their mutual friends is getting married. Josie has a hobby which is creating wedding bouquets, and the family legend says the bouquet "knows its way". (kind of stupid if you ask me, but this is still Hallmark)

There a lot of things I liked about this. Firstly, the diverse cast. Well done, Hallmark. Keep the diversity coming! Secondly, new actors, new faces, which is very refreshing. Decent acting, good chemistry between the whole group. Different jobs for the characters, which may be a small detail but they always have the same boring jobs. While the plot is nothing we don't know already, it was a different pace, you don't expect a wedding at the beginning of the movie.

However, it was very slow at times, and I kept being distracted by my phone, forcing myself to come back so as not to miss anything. While I was expecting a time jump for the final scene, the confession scene was very anticlimatic...

Not a winner, won't rewatch it, but may be worth a watch for all of you who enjoy these movies. I feel like giving this a 6 now, may change later, I am unsure of how to rate it.

Just ok!
ts-000012 October 2020
Unfortunately got bored early on,but stuck it out! Seen the lead in other things, haven't been too impressed. Didn't have much Autumn feel, more like Summer-wedding season.

Plus! Enjoyed seeing other actors in this, versus typical choices.

This movie didn't make my list,of ones to remember for watching again. Before deciding based on my review, see it & judge yourself.

Hopelessly romantic
Jackbv12316 October 2020
Josie is charming and annoying at the same time as a hopeless romantic. I think Chaley Rose was a great choice for her. There were a couple times I thought that if they used the line about "The bouquet knows" one more time I would scream. They did and I didn't. I loved Josie when she epitomized what's good about being an optimistic romantic. Obviously, part of the plot was that she sometimes went overboard. But even so, I think she makes an implicit case that more of us should appreciate a little more romance in the world.

The lore of the bouquet gives a slightly different take to what comes down to a few of the well used plot devices like the best friends who don't realize they are really in love, or one of the leads has a job offer far away.

Athena's mother-in-law (to be) is a nice variation on the controlling m-i-l . Usually this stereotype starts out overbearing and blindly self-centered but suddenly changes to sweet and loving. In this case we can see almost from the beginning that she isn't exactly sure of herself either, but she's trying.

Note to Directors - Please make phone text messages large enough for people of all ages to be able to read. In this movie, they were almost large enough, but the worst problem was coming out of the last commercial, the G rating symbol covered a large part of a key text.

A bouquet that doesn't bloom enough
TheLittleSongbird7 April 2022
Most of the small batch of 2020 Fall Harvest films did not impress me, of the previous films prior to this only 'Country at Heart' was good. The previous two before that were two of the worst of the 2020 Hallmark films. 'My Best Friend's Bouquet' did sound very cute, and Hallmark can do cute quite well when not too sugary sweet (a danger with their Christmas films). It is also quite relatable to anybody who has been in this situation or similar.

While it is better than 'Follow Me to Daisy Hills' and 'Falling for Look Lodge' as far as the 2020 Fall Harvest films go, 'My Best Friend's Bouquet' still a downhill in quality after being very pleasantly surprised by 'Country at Heart'. It sounded cute on paper, but the execution overall was lacking. There were far worse Hallmark films from 2020, but also better. If asked whether 'My Best Friend's Bouquet' is worth seeing, my answer would be a very small yes but for curiosity's sake and not worthy of repeat viewings.

It does have good things. It looks nice, especially the scenery. The music has pleasant moments here and there.

There are parts that are cute and charming from the supporting cast. Which is solid, especially Jaime M. Callica and Luisa D'Oliviera.

Chaley Rose doesn't work in the female lead role, it just looked like her heart was not in it and she looked bored, her line delivery lacks expression too. Nathan Witte has a bland, underwritten character and while he is more involved than Rose he is on the dull side. Didn't feel any connection let alone any romantic chemistry between them and the relationship doesn't go very far most of the time and then rushes abruptly. While the supporting actors are solid, the characters are flimsy in development and at the end of the day there's not much distinct about them.

Will agree that 'My Best Friend's Bouquet' doesn't fall like a Fall Harvest film and more like it belonged in the Summer Nights or Love Ever After seasonal blocks, there is very little Autumn feel. The story takes ages to get going, the first 25-30 minutes or so is a slog, and when it does get somewhere it is very derivative and tired stuff. If one is expecting originality here, you've come to the wrong place. The dialogue is awkward a vast majority of the time and is cheesy too.

Summarising, mediocre. 4/10.

Refreshing

Warning: Spoilers
I am happy that Hallmark is using more people of color as the lead characters.

The diversity of cast was refreshing.

I throughly enjoyed the plot and directing of the film.

I cried at the end when Josie and Alex got together in the end.

Well done, to all the cast and Hallmark!

Bad acting, worse storyline.. boring
bhypjvfk15 March 2022
I am all about multicultural movies but this movie was just so boring I had to fast forward it like six or seven times.

I think the Director of this movie should have brought out the storyline better because you see what they were trying to portrait but it was so disappointing.

It was so painful to watch and also to see the cast acting without any big emotion.

And the lead in this movie was like half asleep the whole time I didn't get any energy from her. It's such a shame because I want to see these actors doing good because they are likable but I always talk positive about positive things and honestly I couldn't find anything positive about this movie.

Loved It!
Jazzie-too27 January 2021
It's Hallmark, so you know from the start how it's going to go. But I loved the cast! In particular, Chaley Rose and Nathan Witte--as well as ALL the supporting cast. Nice to see fresh characters. Let's see more of these actors. It's hard when you produce so many movies, and have limited criteria, based on family values and human decency and respect for others, to have intriguing plots, mixed with love and mystery. But when you just want to feel good and not get too tense, fearful, or just plain awful, Hallmark is where to go!

Lead actress just couldn't convince me
imacmee13 October 2020
I am not sure how Chaley Rose got into acting but she's plain awful. She's like listening to a monotone lecture. It seems like she's incapable of fluctuation with her voice to show any kind of emotion. She can't convince me she's a hopeless romantic and compared to all the other actors in this film, should NOT be the lead. Usually I can get past some bad acting with hallmark movies but this movie I think would be better played in double speed. She comes off as conceited and full of herself which does nothing for the character she's playing. Only reason 4 stars because other actors and the whole concept of movie is cute.

Terribly boring
bmiller599 November 2020
My Best Friend's Bouquet was boring from the beginning to the end. We made it all the way through though, The cast was boring, and unless the interaction and chemistry were written to be the way they ALL portrayed it, and I mean all, there was no chemistry. We didn't recognize any of the characters and the one character who had a little pizazz wasn't the lead character. I have a difficult time reviewing poor films and giving the appropriate rating, that being said I easily could have given a lower rating. The story line was OK, but the way it was written just didn't come out believable and enjoyable.

I'm not trashing this movie, just found it boring and uninspiring.

One of those lovely Hallmark films that sneak up on you and suck you in with its charm and humour.

I thoroughly enjoyed this film, I thought it was well played and had some lovely moments.

Some good, some bad
chantalle_girl8 December 2020
The leads had no chemistry. Didn't even believe they were friends let alone in love. Jaime was good, the boss at the investment company was good, Luisa was good (she's great in everything) but the other cast weren't remotely believable!

Really enjoyable!
joey425925 September 2021
I enjoyed this movie a lot! I loved the story and loved how though it had two clear leads, it centered on a group of friends with their own personalities and lives that were more fleshed out than Hallmark movies usually are.

Nathan Witte is great! He conveyed the emotions and heart of his character, Alex, so well! His eyes say it all.

Casey Manderson as Brian was a stand out to me, as well, despite his lack of screen time. Hallmark ought to make him the lead, as he's played many supporting roles in their movies. He deserves it!!

Not a fan
txjay11 October 2020
I did not care for the cast on this show. This was not the type of show that had me on the edge of my seat waiting for a happy ending. I have seen Chaley Rose now in 2 movies and get the the stuck up vibe. It's as if she was suppose to be playing a sneaky villain. Nope she is the main actress and suppose to be sweet. I think I will just skip the the movies she is in for now on.

Lighthearted Hallmark Fun
beth62811 October 2020
This movie, of course, has all of the Hallmark movie trademarks. You know how it's going to end five minutes after it starts. But, I enjoyed the characters and the fact that the supporting characters were a little more fleshed out than your usual movie.

Cute movie
toncincin13 October 2020
It held my attention - unlike the first two 2020 Hallmark fall movies (snoozefests and bad acting - the Daisy Hills and Look Lodge movies). The cast was pretty. The scenery was pretty. The story wasn't original - but had a different twist. Chaley Rose is beautiful - her acting could use some fine tuning - but she'll get there. All-in-all - Enjoyable movie.

Lovely Tale of College Friends Who Become More . . .

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the casting for this warm hearted movie. Hallmark provides movies that touch your heart and reflect real life situations. Great references to classic movies! Beautiful settings and costumes! Great acting!

A delightful film with a cast that could steal your heart
kidcraw12 October 2020
Let me tell you, if you're looking for a fun, happy, romantic flick to watch on a lovely Sunday evening, look no further. The cast of this film light up the screen with their charisma and charm. I was completely engaged watching the love story between the two leads, Chaley Rose and Nathan Witte. The gorgeous Rebecca Olsen steals each scene she graces the screen in. Thomas Cadot proves that he is a charming powerhouse in the little screen time he has. Luisa d'Oliveira makes the jump from bad ass 100 star, to perfect bride effortlessly!! Casey Manderson lights up each scene with the perfect balance of humour within the films tone!

A must watch for any fan of the Hallmark franchises!!!
