A satisfying end to the Malevolence trilogy

Warning: Spoilers
Not much to say, this episode resolves the Malevolence storyline in action packed fashion, it keeps the stakes high by introducing Padme into the fold and we get our first real clash of Sabres with Grevious and Obi Wan. 8.0/10

The Jedi are deliberately obtuse

Padme gets sent straight into a trap by Palpatine and nobody thinks to come back and ask Palpy any hard questions? Another in a long line of instances where the Jedi seem to deliberately ignore that Palps is working against them.

Otherwise a fun episode, I just get tired of the continued shoulder shrugging by the Jedi when it's obvious a traitor is in their midst.

Destroy Malevolence

This episode had a little more of that classic fun that I remember loving when I was a child. I have always wanted to see the real camaraderie between Anakin and Obi-Wan, and they share a lot of good moments of this rescue mission. The mission in itself is fun, but the situation in which it occurs does not make a lot of sense and seems to be purely coincidental. I think the writers could have come up with a better mission for them, even though the personal attachment is there for the characters, which, I guess, makes it engaging. Some of the humor is definitely not for me, namely the battle droids and almost everything that included C-3PO. This is a solid episode, but definitely not as investing as the show can really be at its best

Good energy, faithful to the prequel movies (actually improves them via reinforcement)

Warning: Spoilers
There were moments involving C3P0 which recalled the calamity of the droid factory of Attack of the Clones, but ultimately, how can you fault an episode that ends with a giant battle cruiser having its nav computer sabotaged to hyperspace directly into a moon?

May the fun be with you.

This was the first episode of Clone Wars that really had a moment of being just a kids cartoon but it really was only a very small aspect and overall this is a fun and solid addition to the series.

Clone Wars is a really great animated scifi adventure which was family friendly but is still presented seriously and consistent mostly within the Star Wars universe and therefore satisfying for an adult viewer. However, there are episides which lurch more into kids cartoon and this episode was the first one that had a jarring moment more like a kids cartoon as C3PO gets smashed by vehicles and flies through the air while remaining undamaged. I remember finding it a bit disappointing but it really is a small scene which does not spoil the overall enjoyment too much. There is quite a lot of humour which is good for kids and quite fun for adults but also plenty of action and more engaging drama as Obi Wan faces Grievous so it is a solid episode in the end.

My rating: 7/10.
