The elderly writer living in seclusion is a well developed character, well acted! The bitchy boss is too obnoxious! Just quit and walk away! The two many characters had an interesting relationship developing. Some substance to the story line! Take the option to follow your heart, break the rules!

Could have been so much better

I like the premise and most of it was what makes these stories enjoyable. Three things were exceedingly bad.
First, the boss is a world class jerk that changes too suddenly into being supportive of the cause. Also her acting was some of the worst I've seen.
Second, the cowboy wearing his pants tucked into his boots pulled me out of the story. As far as I know they would only do that if they were slogging through the mud. I often check my expectations of reality at the door but this threw me visually that i almost shut it off.
Third, the party at the end that was supposed to save the farm/ranch had about 20 people. Maybe if the first two things didn't bother me so much I could have let this slide.

Good inclusion of older characters and above average storylines

Almost gave up on this movie at the start, but really worth sticking with as it comes together a bit differently to many of the genre. Unusually, I think there's only really one male character plus maybe three very brief work/shop scenes with men, so this is predominantly a film about the different generations of women and the city versus country experience. Overall it is a very calm movie not a lot of loud music / flashy images. Because of that and the age range, this is one I would buy and watch over for years as I wouldn't grow out of it like shows with a younger cast. Having watched some disappointing Reel One movies lately, I'd lost interest but this is defo a better one.
