Warning: Spoilers
Well This years summerslam in my opinion was an OK PPV Because most of the matches were very good The only match I was disappointed with was the ECW championship match but they made up for it at the next PPV. The best match of the night was the HELL IN A CELL Undertaker vs. edge match that match was awesome, The HHH vs. The Great Khlai match and Cena vs. Batista match were also good. So make sure that you see Summerslam Because it is really good.

SummerSlam 2008 Thoughts

SummerSlam 2008 was the 21st annual SummerSlam event produced by the WWE taking place August 17, 2008 at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, Indiana. Attendence was set at 15,997. This was the first PPV to be under PG although we didn't quite start a new era until November where many things were officially changed for the fit of PG. Also the first SummerSlam to be broadcast in HD.

Match card featured Undertaker returning from absence to finish off the feud with Edge in a brutal Hell in a Cell as Edge was on a rampage of getting a divorce from his on-screen wife Vickie Guerrero. We also saw at the time one of the matches in the making as John Cena would battle Batista. I remember this at the time being a discussion with kids of who is better as both were running the brands as the top faces for years. 3 world title matches also took place.

The Good - Match of the night would definitely go to Undertaker vs. Edge. The Hell in a Cell still felt intense although it was obvious that they were limited due to PG rules now. The weapons coming in like it was a TLC match was odd as that clearly looked like a mock towards TNA booking but still it was an instant classic. John Cena vs. Batista lived up to the hype and it was like watching a superhero fighting a superhero. They sold each others moves well and had good chemistry for working in a one on one first time. Opening match between Jeff and MVP was good and CM Punk vs. JBL was better than expected although Punk was still in a too early push. The segment of HBK retiring was a great angle and the feud picked up a lot later in a couple of weeks.

The Meh - Triple H did the best he could of having a decent match with Khali. It surprisingly wasn't a dreadful match. Khali obviously went as far as he could with HHH but you can't expect a classic from him. Intergender was fun for a filler.

The Bad - ECW Championship was the only waste of time of this show. It was obvious why people gave up on WWE ECW by this point. Was hardly a match being only 31 seconds. Matt Hardy deserved better than this.

Overall - A pretty solid show. It's comparable to SummerSlams 00 and 01 as it lacks any bad moments or spots. Hardly anything to rant on it about and the final 2 matches were awesome to help it get a big boost. Not one of the greatest of all time but a solid show.

Score 8 out of 10: Really Really Good

0 = Terrible : 1 = Bad : 2 = Decent : 3 = Good : 4 = Awesome : 5 = One of the Best of all Time :

1. Jeff Hardy vs. MVP - 3/5

3. Matt Hardy vs. Mark Henry: ECW Championship - 0/5

4. CM Punk vs. JBL: World Heavyweight Championship - 3/5

5. The Great Khali vs. Triple H: WWE Championship - 2/5

6. John Cena vs. Batista - 4/5

7. Edge vs. Undertaker (Hell in a Cell) - 4.5/5

Best Match - Edge vs. Undertaker. Second classic of the year between these 2.

Worst Match - Matt Hardy vs. Mark Henry

Most Memorable Moment - Aftermath of Taker/Edge match.

Top 5 Performers

1. Undertaker - Great Performance

2. Edge - Great Performance

3. Batista - Great Performance

4. John Cena - Great Performance

5. Triple H - looked tired of having to put up a 9 minute match against Khali and still made it decent.
