  Kara : I can't. I don't fit in here. My journey's somewhere else.

  Tess Mercer : [meaning Lex]  I know that you're hiding something about his disappearance. And I can't wait for the day when you realize that you and I are on the same side. And that maybe it's not in your best interests to lie to your boss.

  Clark Kent : If you want to fire me, Ms. Mercer, go ahead. I have nothing more to tell you about this.

  Tess Mercer : Clark, I don't wanna fire you. I wanna trust you. And I wanna know why Lex didn't. In time, I'm sure the truth will reveal itself.
