I'm just watching this action series on an entertainment perspective and it has all the fundamentals like bravery, solid story, good acting, good fight scenes, lots of palace intrigues though I didn't like the quarrels and jealousy amongst the palace ladies too much. I still have lots of memories from Kosem series which was very enjoyable then but I didn't want a repeat. The balance of political events, wars and romance is good. Bugra Gusoy as Sultan Melik Shah and Ekin Koc as Sencer are really good choices.

What a magnificent series which catch the mind and eye by its superb motion picture, professional actors and wonderful filming locations. Burgay ulsoy and Ekin koc have surpassed the creativity. Gurkan uygun acting is wow. No time wasting.

I am truly amazed at the epic storyline, acting and how well the fight scenes are executed. Omg. Falling in love with it when every other episode i watch. This is such an important era covered by the series, its going to be a treat to watch Alp Arsalan's son and grandson enticingly carrying his mighty legacy overcoming the Batinis and Byzantines , expanding their State and gaining more power. Hands down one of the best series i watched till date. Coming from Turkey, i love it even more.

The people who dislike this series love hassan sabbah. These people are mostly Shia.they want to ban this drama so that no one can know the truth about history of Shia(Ismailis). Most people(who dislike this series) will become anger at my review. They will also start disliking super hit series kurulus osman after they watch yavuz sultan selim(which focuses on life of ottoman sultan yavuz selim and his war against shia ruler of safavid empire i.e ismail shah ). But in my opinion, it is the best historical series like dirilis ertugrul and kurulus osman.

Shia muslim dislike this series. They like hassan sabbah ,but they also know that ismailis of hassan sabbah assassinated many famous muslims including the great Haji Nizamulmulk, Caliph al Mustarshid,Caliph al Rashid and many others.they poisoned our great hero of islam Sultan saladin ayyubi. They appeared as threaten to not only seljuks and abbassids but also fatimid caliphate which was a shia empire.

If you have not started, I recommend you do. Ertugrul was my first love n this is a good candidate for 2nd. Brilliant! Great story line, well cast talented actors n full of actions, secrets and only at episode 9. Looking forward to more stories to be unfold. Kudos to the producers, director n script writers! So far so good. Thank you for bringing UBS to us viewers.

I haven't watched any TV series for a long time. I loved every bit of it. War scenes were immaculate and well presented. Acting was almost flawless . Can't wait to see next episodes. I feel like netflix will start showing this TV series very soon .

I am an avid Turkish History buff and let me tell you, this is the best series by far!! This show has everything! I never thought I would find another show since Resurrection but this has done it for me. I have to say, this is better than Osman! My other addictions: Payitaht, Melmeck, Independence or Death and last, Kurulus Osman. I am obsessed with the Ottoman History. They went through so much and had to fight so hard. Uyanis is a MUST WATCH!! US should learn that it does not take a lot of sex, profanity and nudity to make a great show! The most you see here is a kiss on the forehead!! I LOVE IT!!

Without an absolute doubt "The Great Seljuks" is by far the best Turkish TV show ever produced. The fast paced, action filled, and emotionally engaging plot has been absolutely phenomenal. Perhaps the best part is that there's never just one storyline, at the minimum there's always more than three major plotlines going on. It leaves the viewer always on the edge of their seat.
This show also has amazing Islamic inspiration. From showing the Islamic scholarship and philosophy of the famous Imam Al Ghazali, to the mathematical and scientific excellence of Omar Khayyam and Al-Isfizari. Nothing feels forced nor repetitive. The great Nizam-ul-Mulk is brilliantly shown as political powerhouse of his time, constantly striving for the future of the Seljuk and Islamic world.
Sulltan Melikshah, Sultan Mohammad Alp Arsalan, Ahmet Sencer, Melik Tapar, are portrayed better than any other shows have ever portrayed historical figures. Powerful and intelligent women historical figures such as Terken Hatun, Elcin Hatun, and many others have shown that this show covers all aspects of the Islamic world at the time.
The best part of the show is that no character is bland. Every character is dynamic, meaning that nothing is "black and white.", "smart or dumb or just "good and evil." They are shown as humans, who make mistakes, but ultimately do the best they can. There is intense effort to also the deep details of the series' antagonists as well, from Hasan Sabah, to Andreas, and many more.
Lastly, the music in this show is simply sensational, really draws you in and captivates the viewer like many of the greatest films of all time. You NEED to watch this show ASAP. I hope it comes on Netflix soon.

I can't bear the fact how terrible the series is to keep adding different wives for Melikshah unnecessarily. Also its really wired why the drama is showing Fidais so negatively which is wrong. Also the whole Hassan Sabbah story is just a oneided point of view totallly neglecting the other view. Infact according to history when hassan sabah finally defeated celjuks he had the chance to murder ahmed sancar and end his empire but he didn't and the celjuks signed peace with them but in the drama they just seem to show all negatives about hassan sabah. After all even ertugrul ghazi shows how celjuks were also corrupt which shows true face in reality how they were corrupt with emirs like sadettin kopek.

This is the second time, i am watching historical series (first dirilis ertugrul)..I think , uynis buyuk seljuk will be the on the top of the ratings...It is a very good series with great story,plot and obviously with great actor.l loved to watch it...Even,i,many times repeat one episode again and again....I just loved it too much...

I am a big fan of Turkish Dramas, especially after great hits like Dirilis Ertugrul, Kurulus Osman and many others. The first episode of this series was exceptional but on further research I found out that the series was wrongly portraying Hasan Sabah as a villain who was actually a pious Muslim and so strict by its terms that he even didn't prevent his sons for being punished for being involved in drugs. If the series wants to be my favorite again it should try to bring truth in front rather than lies to show fellow Muslims as evil villains.

This is my most favourite historic series it is truly amazing!
Every scene is just beautiful :)
Each and every character has a strong powerful image, the lead actors have done an amazing job.
I would definitely recommend this!!!
