I'm with Orson

Warning: Spoilers
The subject of the episode was very interesting but while I agree that not everyone who is polite necessarily means well, I disagree with the conclusion that there's no need to be offended with someone who's openly rude because they maybe that way because of the nicest of reasons.

There is no good enough reason to be rude! Most people who are rude don't do it for a nice reason! They do it because they don't care. The example of Susan and Katherine was stupid. Katherine could have just explained to Mike that she'd rather have a picture of the two of them on her mantel instead of a drawing Mike got from his ex-wife of a place they spent their honeymoon. Mike isn't an idiot and a simple explanation would fix the problem. There was no need for Katherine to lie and then pretend to go and apologize to Susan and then for Susan to pretend to be rude just to help Katherine. Just tell the truth. What's the problem?!

As for Orson, people around him are extremely rude to him and for no good reason. What he did to Mike was horrible but he went to prison and he paid for his crime. Not to mention that he didn't have to do it. The police wasn't on to him. He did it because of his love for Bree, because he didn't want to lose her.

Orson isn't the only person in Wisteria Lane who went to prison. If Mike and Carlos deserve a second chance so does Orson. The way Tom talked to him was absolutely disgusting!!! Tom had no right to verbally attack him like that. He didn't lose his restaurant because of Orson so why is he taking it out on him? Orson came to help him because he thought they were friends. All he said was that he understands what it's like to lose everything. The reasons for why both men lost their source of livelihood isn't important. What's important is that Orson came to help a friend on a difficult day. He was nice and sympathetic and Tom had no right to be so rude! Not to mention that five minutes ago both Lynette and Tom agreed to "protect their son even if he killed seven people" so Tom doesn't have the moral authority to judge Orson.

It's not that I think stealing is a good solution but if people knew that being rude would cost them something I bet they would be much more careful with their words. So no, people don't need to be rude. Period.
