Ship Ahoy!
juanruiz-6567923 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
This episode offers Melinda and Jim a respite from the daily grind of Grandview. No Eli, no Delia, no Ned. Just the two of them on a cruise whose ship is scheduled to be sold and turned to scrap. A moment of peace before Jim meets his fate two episodes later.

The conflict is based on misinterpretation; the ghost witnesses her beloved with another woman on board and jumps to the wrong conclusion. That she was there surreptitiously leads to her death. Now with him on board again, as owner of the ship, she seeks to take revenge on his perceived infidelity. Given 45 minutes to present the story, it still moves at a snail's pace to resolution.

What really stands out is the number of other ghosts on board who will finally enter the light. Special mention should be made of the humor provided by Katharine LaNasa as Betty, who refuses to leave, thus assuring the ship will continue to be haunted even after it is dry-docked and turned into a museum, offering Adam and Amy, the Ghost Hunters, or the Haunted Collector a chance to rediscover her.

S.S. Claridon
elminotaur24 February 2020
Though it was filmed aboard the legendary Queen Mary in Long Beach, California the name of the ship on this episode is the S.S. Claridon. That name was used in the 1960 M-G-M disaster film, "The Last Voyage" with Robert Stack and Dorothy Malone. The film featured the systematic destruction of the famed French Line liner Ile De France. The French Line sued to keep the name off the movie. In one scene, when the S.O.S is sent out, the radio operator goofs the name of the ship. Also, the Ile De France was the rescue ship for the stricken Andrea Doria.
