I have only watched this one a few times despite it being in my top ten for the series.
Like many Cold Case episodes it centers on a very specific time . One Small Step happens the day of the first moon landing.
Danny is smart enough to build and launch his own rocket. He's without friends but finds some when they share the same interest. I won't go into specific details but it's one of the episodes that crushes me every time I watch and breaks my heart thinking about it.
Fitting in and being an individual and dealing with bullies are a part of this one. So is trying to make that leap and acting brave versus actually being brave. Mental illness and hero worship and who the real heroes are all key to this story.
