This was an interesting case, psychologically, but it's unfair to the viewer. That's because somewhat early on, the only suspect gives the camera and look like "aha, I'm fooling these idiots," and it turns out to be very misleading.
Did this suspect, found wandering the city streets with blood all over him, kill this family or not? He claims amnesia. Some of the CSI workers think he's a con man while "Eric Delko," who once suffered amnesia, is empathetic to the kid ("Doug Benson" played by Tom Guiry).
The is-he-or-isn't-he-guilty mystery takes some twists-and-turns, as all CSI episodes do, and the truth we find out a little of this and a little of that. Yeah, it's different.
