The Terminator Decoupling was another funny episode of "The Big Bang Theory"
tavm17 September 2009
Warning: Spoilers
This is another episode of "The Big Bang Theory" from the second season I'm now watching to catch up before the third season premiere comes next Monday. In this one, Leonard, Sheldon, Raj, and Howard, on their way to San Francisco to attend a conference for a Dr. George Smoot, find out Summer Glau, star of Fox's now cancelled "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles", is on the same train with them. Raj, who's usually mute around women when sober, gets a drink which makes him the first one to approach Ms. Glau to Howard's consternation. Meanwhile, Sheldon calls Penny and asks her to e-mail his paper so he can show Dr. Smoot his own theory. Not as funny as the last two I watched, this was still a very good episode especially with the rivalry between Howard and Raj concerning Ms. Glau. Oh, and when Penny mentioned playing Anne Frank in her upcoming play, I flashed back briefly to when Kaley Cuoco was on the post-John Ritter "8 Simple Rules" and we actually saw her character channeling her late dad in taking said role in an episode. She was actually pretty good in her brief scene as Ms. Frank. Okay, it's late but tomorrow, I'll have another comment on another episode of "The Big Bang Theory" I previously missed. Until then...

Anglers on a Train

Because Sheldon insists, the gang is going to a big time physics symposium, not on a plane, but a train. So they will be together for hours. As they travel, Sheldon realizes he left his flash drive behind with his major paper on it. He had planned on giving it to a Nobel Prize winner. Ultimately, he talks Penny into sending him the paper on line (hilariously, on her part). The other guys realize that Heather Glau is on the train and they take turns hitting on her. Howard's efforts are awful.

The Terminator Decoupling (#2.17)

Fun episode about a fun train ride the guys had. I loved how they all tried to flirt with Summer Glau. Raj almost made it, so bad that Howard showed him that he was not drinking! Leonard's attempt was the funniest one of course. And Sheldon trying to get Penny to find his flash was also great. She is smart by breaking that box!

One of my favorite episodes of Big Bang Theory!
vineet_pro29 October 2020
Somehow, this episode of big bang theory caught my attention while seeing one of the many re-runs of big bang theory, running on different channels. Something, about it being shot out of their home, in a moving train, Sheldon showing off his knowledge about trains, Howard being as desperate as ever, Raj coming into his element with alcohol suddenly becoming charming and event somewhat arrogant with the guest star of the show, really makes one must watch and somewhat under-rated episodes of the show. And also another reason why first few seasons, were really special and got all of us so much attached to the show.

I really like the early years of this show, and this is another fine episode from this period.

Lots of nice moments and gags, with the Penny/Sheldon relationship/dynamic getting better by the episode.

Lovely stuff.
