i actually was surprised that i liked it that much. this was a very good movie, of course i am a big fan of drake bell, josh peck, Miranda Coscrove, and jerry trainer. the film was funny and just plain goofy. the film was by far one of the best Christmas movies that have come out in the last 5 years. it was fun to see the cast back together again. the film had its own spin on Christmas and the traditional Christmas songs, jingle bells and 12 days of Christmas. it was enjoyable family film. if you are a fan of drake and josh, you will love this film, same goes for if you are a fan of Christmas films. the film was totally kid appropriate. i think the film is definitely worth adding to your Christmas collection.

I've always been a fan of the Drake and Josh TV show. Two classic Nickelodeon characters being brought together onto one show with random crazy adventures and mayhem. I could relate to the show being in high school from the year the show started to graduating around when it ended. But even though it ended, Nickelodeon felt the need to bring back all the cast for one last movie in a very twisty tervy Christmas adventure. First off, I enjoyed this movie. I give it a 7 out of 10 because I think it was a decent movie. But nothing more than a decent movie. I have watched the last Drake and Josh movie where they went to Los Angeles and I did not enjoy it that much. This one was better, but now by much. First, I'm going to explain what the movie was about.
Merry Christmas Drake and Josh has a very bland story line. A number of events lead to both Drake and Josh getting trouble with the law and having to give another family their "best Christmas ever." During their adventure, we get to see all of the classic Drake and Josh characters and locations. Character wise, Crazy Steve is a supporting actor (from iCarly which he is very good in), Helen is back, Josh's girlfriend makes a couple of cameos in the film (who really turned into a good looking woman), and we also get to see the high school nerds Craig and Eric, and of course, Drake and Josh's parents and Megan. Location wise, we get to see the premier again (even though the original was rumored to be burned down), and the main household. Other than a basic introduction on what and who is in the movie, you will have to see it for yourself to get the full storyline down. There are a number of problems I had with the movie though. First off, as I said before, I'm not a fan of Drake and Josh's movies. The duo made an excellent TV show, but one long adventure just goes on for too long to squeeze into a movie. Secondly, Josh looks too old. I didn't mind the final episodes that were filmed two years ago, but now Josh looks much more mature with thick facial hair growing in and a not so childish looking body.
In conclusion, I did enjoy this movie and I think it's worth watching if you haven't seen it, but I don't think I need to see it again. I think this was just a "family reunion" more than a heartfelt performance in a movie. In my opinion, the story line doesn't make any sense in the way Drake and Josh are forced to do community service for another family and that is kind of what the whole movie is about.

I had seen the comments here before watching the movie. Some people here bashed this movie as not funny, some others have said it was OK. But I went ahead and watched the movie, and to my not-so-surprise, I found the movie very funny. I had many laughs. Thoroughly enjoyable movie. Drake and Josh are back! The movie starts with Drake and Josh planning their Christmas, and then there is this Christmas Party. A Santa(Drake), A girl who is an orphan. This girl asks Drake for "the best Christmas ever". An emotional Drake promises that.
You can break a Christmas Promise! You just cannot! And the rest of the story is all about how Drake and Josh try to make this Best Christmas ever happen.

Okay this movie is very cheesy and dumb. But its a good movie for kids and very entertaining. I'm currently 15 years old and i still like Drake and Josh. I've seen every episode about 20 times each. And i will tell you right now, its not the same Drake and Josh that your used to. Its definitely not as funny but i still like this movie. It came out when i was about 9 so its been around for about 6 years. But they play it on nickelodeon every year around Christmas, so if you have cable check it out. The side characters aren't that great, but hey its Drake and Josh so what do you expect. Overall this is a funny, cheesy, entertaining Christmas Movie that i would recommend.

I loved this movie so much that I actually made an account on here just to add a comment! :D Normally, it's really hard to keep my attention in almost any movie, but I watched every second of this one and never turned away from my TV unless the commercials came on! Mostly because it was good from BEGINNING to END. I loved it. I watched it yesterday and today and plan on watching it again for the third time. It was really funny. I laughed throughout almost every scene. Some parts I wanted to cry, and some parts made me smile so big. :) It was SO much better compared to their Hollywood movie! It's on my list of favorite Christmas movies, now.

Big fan of the show since it came out five years ago, and the first two TV movies were great. But this? It's different. It wasn't really very funny; I laughed maybe five times. The humor was over the top at times and tried too hard to be funny; unlike the show, it just wasn't in a lot of scenes. Josh Peck just isn't Josh Nichols anymore; he not only looks different but IS different. The plot was unbelievable in most instances, and not overly creative. While other Drake and Josh movies/the TV show didn't try to make you learn a lesson, one thing that's nice about them since a lot of kid's TV shows do, this movie definitely did. And the ending was just kind of cheesy, honestly.
But, it was Drake and Josh, and seeing both of them together again on screen was kind of nice. They still have that great on screen chemistry that helps pull this movie together. Josh still has his wonderful spazzy moments, and Drake is still an obnoxious, self centered jerk at times.
Worth a watch if it's on TV or somewhere, but I wouldn't say buy it. It definitely disappointed me, as I was looking forward to more of the Drake and Josh that you just don't get here.

Its just one of those things that you'll think will be real good but come out like a disappointment. Merry Christmas, Drake and Josh is an example of that...I thought this movie would be really goods but it wasn't that great. It was decent at best. There are many flaws and weird things with the movie. The parents weren't in it much and Megan wasn't really their. She wasn't serve much to do compared to the shows. I also found funny things that Drake and Josh have said. The kids were really annoying and the plot was very weird. Trying to give a little girl the best Christmas ever because of Drake's promise to her. That's a little odd but still turn out okay.
I like the effect they used and sorta the scenes with Josh in jail, that was cool.
overall its get a 5/10 from me...HAHAH

With a bland and generic title such as "Merry Christmas, *name of show*," one must expect a bland and generic film.
I'll come out and say it now: I like the TV show this film is based off of. The comradery of Drake Bell and Josh Peck usually work with humorous results, often much more than most kids shows of the same genre. However, that's the show, and this is the movie, two totally different things in term of writing, creativity, and watchability.
The premise? Drake and Josh get arrested and are forced to help an orphanage have a truly merry Christmas. Along the way, the group encounters hilarity, self discovery, and the true meaning of Christmas. Mean the while, a cop (this movie's Scrouge) attempts to stop them because he got urinated on by a monkey as a child. True story.
The absolute worst aspect about this film is the writing. Almost every major problem of this film can be traced back to the abysmal screenplay written by Dan Schneider, the creator of the original show. Exhibit A: Drake and Josh need a reason to be arrested so the plot can begin. How so? They are throwing a LEGAL party at their business when some thugs come and crash the party. Like any reasonable person, Josh calls the police. However, in one of the most confusing smacks to the face I've ever seen, the cops come and arrest Josh for no apparent reason whatsoever. To make the, a cop accidentally shoves Josh off of the building, in which he plummets several stories before crashing into the bed of a pickup truck (completely unscathed, of course). The drivers of the truck drive off, oblivious to the man in the back screaming for help and oblivious to the dozens of cop cars chasing them in high pursuit. Josh eventually flies out of the high speed vehicle (again, completely unscathed) and the entire posse of cop cars immediately stop, collect Josh, and go home. Uh...what about the truck? For all they know, the people in the truck were accomplices in crime. But no, they got one guy, its all good.
Exhibit B: When the children of the orphanage find out Drake and Josh are only helping them out to stay out of jail, the children become crushed. Each of them go into in a separate depression that is so phoned in that I thought some of them would attempt suicide. The person who tells them this is a highly compulsive, possibly autistic person who constantly blurts rageful gibberish; if this guy told me anything, I'd just smile and shoo him away. I find it hard to believe these children would believe anything this man says.
Exhibit C: Drake & Josh try to redeem themselves to the children by doing several acts, all of which result in property damage, further depression for the kids, and some possible casualties. However, at the end, the children surprise Drake & Josh at their house and declare this Christmas to be "the best Christmas ever" for absolutely no reason. These jerks destroyed house with an wood chipper and set their Christmas tree on fire, yet they suddenly forgive them? There isn't even a scene when Drake and Josh apologize, its just property damage, property damage, depressed children, best Christmas ever. No transition whatsoever.
Exhibit D: of course the Grinch of this film must have a reason to have a grudge Christmas, but the reason in this film is ridiculous. The grudge: a monkey peed on him as a kid. That's the honest reason. We even get a flashback scene with terrible special effects.
There is literally hundreds of other exhibits, but there is word limit on these reviews so I guess I'm done here. Drake & Josh has worked in other film mediums: "Drake & Josh Go Hollywood" and "Really Big Shrimp" were two entertaining films staring the Drake & Josh characters. For a series finale, "Merry Christmas Drake & Josh" is a complete mockery. To make matters worse, this movie actually replaced the largely hyped "Drake & Josh Take New York" which was meant to be a big budgeted theatrical released blockbuster. What a bargain deal.

I only saw this movie once in 2009, 5 years ago. From what I remember, I didn't like the movie as it isn't the Drake & Josh we know. I mean the show by all means is hilarious, I love the show and I just reviewed it on IMDb, giving it a 10/10. I also really like the other movie they made for this show, Drake & Josh Go Hollywood. That movie was a great action movie they made with the characters Drake & Josh. It even got lots of viewers, and was critically acclaimed, that's awesome!! However, I saw this movie once and did not like it. I'll explain why I don't like it for a few reasons. Again the writing seemed to be different than it was in the show which made the movie less bad. But, in this movie it seems like Drake and Josh are trying to be less selfish, are trying to do things for other people, and nobody likes them or trusts them, even though they didn't do anything that should make them disliked in the first place, and those two were doing everything they can. So, this definitely is not a movie you'd want to see for Christmas even if you are a fan of Drake & Josh, unless you want to know what happens. I give it a 2/10.
Loved the movie, it is awesome, funny. Totally great.
Christmas promise is indeed full filled. Nothing is great than putting a smile on others faces . It's the one of the best movies to watch in holidays with your family and friends or whoever with or alone.
Great acting by all the actors and crew 👏🏻🙌🏻 .
Definitely Recommend.
Rating:10/10 This movie is not at all bad don't focus on reviews just do check it out at your own, definitely gonna love the movie and the acting & story line.
It was great and the promises are to keep and full fill them, not to break them.
Once again 🙌🏻 the movie is actually brilliant.

Merry Christmas, Drake and Josh is a nice story, but doesn't live up to the show. The show is one of the best Nickelodeon shows I've ever seen; Drake and Josh is probably one of the shows I watched the most in my life. However, this movie has its moments. The Christmas idea with the kids is sweet and adds Christmas cheer. The acting is good and the jokes could have been funny and yet, it just wasn't.
Overall, it's alright.

The latest Drake and Josh movie was not only unoriginal, it just wasn't good period. The movie tried something different, but just failed and the jokes were unfunny. It seemed like we weren't seeing a Drake and Josh movie just a stinker.
Merry Christmas, Drake and Josh is about Drake and Josh spending time on Christmas Day, but he promises a girl named Mary Alice to have the best Christmas ever and since Drake and Josh are framed for a crime they have to give Mary Alice the best Christmas ever or they go to jail.
I thought this film was just boring. The film didn't take us in anything new or special and when the film would feel tired it would try to insert a repetitive joke or try and create another conflict. If there was any movie that is hard to make it would be a Christmas movie. You don't believe me? For example Four Christmases, Fred Claus, Deck the halls, Unaccompanied Minors, Santa Clause 3: The escape Claus, and should I continue?
Overall I thought Merry Christmas, Drake and Josh was a poor, boring effort that could have been better than what it was.

I thought Dan Schneider could write. This is SO horrible, I begged my son to change the channel. There is nothing worth watching in the entire program. Each actor humiliated themselves and there was not one cliché or pratfall that was overlooked or overacted.
The young actors should be embarrassed that they were part of this - the foster kids, the grumpy older brother, the maybe Muslim kid, the fighting sisters, the sick foster mother and then good ol Miranda Cosgrove. Nothing made sense, the jail scene was overacted.
I like Drake, like Josh. This is just a mess.
Never run this ever again.

Fifteen months after its departure from the Nickelodeon lineup, Drake and Josh returned to Television in 2008 for one final appearance. Merry Christmas, Drake and Josh is the last we'll probably ever see from the two instantly recognizable Nickelodeon stars, and this proves that maybe one final film wasn't wholly necessary.
Drake and Josh ended in a very shaky way. There was a special called The Really Big Shrimp that was aired earlier than it should've been. It was intended to be the big finale of the show, but two episodes that had events that happened prior to the events in the special were aired shortly after. The final episode of the series was aired on September 16, 2007 closing the saga of one of Nickelodeon's last amusing show.
I think Nickelodeon felt obligated to produce one final special for Drake and Josh because of the awkward way it ended. The result is a very different, very odd new show featuring the same cast but different everything else.
Drake (Bell) and Josh (Peck) are still living together and still getting into trouble. After throwing an unwanted Christmas party on the roof of the theater Josh works at called The Premiere, Helen (Brown) forces them to work as a mall Santa and Santa's bag of gifts. Drake, who is in a Santa costume, gets the wish from a cute and innocent little girl named Mary Alice (Madison) that she wants "the best Christmas ever." Little does Drake know that he will have to give this girl "the best Christmas ever." Because everyone knows you can't break a Christmas promise. Not once, not ever.
Due to a horrible mix up of indescribable circumstances, Josh is thrown in jail, Drake tries to bail him out, they both get caught, and then the judge (played by a person some might not expect) says that they need to deliver the same girl "the best Christmas ever" or they will have to go to jail.
Mary Alice lives with a foster family compiled of the strangest kids imaginable. Well, I just saw The Sitter not too long ago, so I'll say these kids seem pretty greeting card-ish compared to the three in that film. They are twins Lily and Violet (played by the Goldstein sisters) who get into frequent fights, Zigfee (Gore) the most annoying of the bunch who can't speak a word of English, Trey (Wilson) who is goofy and off the wall with his creativity, and Luke (Graye) their guardian when the foster parent isn't around.
This is without a doubt the oddest Drake and Josh spectacle I've seen, but for strange, almost unidentifiable reasons. I'm not sure everyone will be able to pick up exactly what they don't like, but if you're a die hard fan of the show you'll feel something isn't on par with the show. The laugh track is gone, the show has traded its sitcom style for a more cinematic, polished look, and the characters are all there but different. Josh hardly even resembles the chubby goof he once was and Drake seems uninspired with his character.
Many believe the show was cancelled so Miranda Cosgrove, the boys' prankster sister Megan, could pursue her acting career in Nickelodeon's show iCarly. No official reason was given, but I suspect the boys are just getting too old. But this was one show I recall where the later episodes seemed more fun. The first season it seemed like Drake and Josh's characters wandered around in search of chemistry. They had some of it on The Amanda Show, but it wasn't shown so explicitly. Here, they are the center of attention, so the first season was more about the characters' adjustment to each other.
Merry Christmas, Drake and Josh is cute, soft, and original, but lacks the true charm of the entire series. The characters have all changed in personalities and appearances, and the actors sometimes look like they are contemplating better things to do with their time. It's time to let this sleeping show lie. I admire the fact that there is the revival and am tickled everyone came back, but with better writing and maybe a little looser grip on the directing this could've been a more relaxed and enjoyable special.
Starring: Drake Bell, Josh Peck, Miranda Cosgrove, Nancy Sullivan, Johnathan Goldstein, Jerry Trainor, Yvette Nicole Brown, Bailee Madison, David Pressman, Kimbo Slice, Daven Wilson, David Gore, and Camille and Cosette Goldstein. Directed by: Michael Grossman.

Little does Drake know that he will have to give this girl "the best Christmas ever." Because everyone knows you can't break a Christmas promise.
