Best Episode of This Season!!
valonso23253 September 2021
Definitely the best episode of the season and one of the best for several years. Just as I was beginning to wonder why they even produced this last season at all I see this episode that made it worth it all. A tear jerker to be sure. My one complaint, I don't know why they didn't devote the entire episode to the story of Dr. Oliver and his achievements to the er and emergency care. Rarely have I gotten emotionally attached to the patients on the show but Dr. Ollie was one. Of course I've always enjoyed Dr. Morganstern as well. Lastly, in my opinion they focused too much on the lives of the staff this season (actually the last several seasons) instead of the er and the patients there. This episode was a tribute to a great show.

A Long, Strange Trip (#15.14)

A very nice episode. Was great to see this character Dr. Oliver Kostin who is so important for the ER spend his last hours there. And while he was already not all there with his mind, spending his time in the 30's, he managed to do the last great deed of saving a life by recognizing tuberculosis in a patient. I actually ended up googling his name to see if this is a real person in medicine, but turns out it was just an ER character. Also was great to see Dr. David Morgenstern. Another character brought to us from the past before the show is over.

We also had stories of pregnant kids dealing with their mothers. One is Sam and her memories brought by her sister. A pretty good part and well done.

Decent episode

Good cases, a great cameo, but...

Sam continues to reinforce the fact that she is the most insufferable character over the run of the series. Jealous, arrogant, impulsive, a terrible mother and an awful partner to every significant other she had. The only exception being her baby daddy, whome she shot and killed. Almost laughable how unbearable and conceited her character really is...

ER went downhill during the tail end of its run. Look no further than Sam's character, and the showrunners insistence to focus so much of the show on her character as to why.

ER's Finest Hour

THIS episode is the reason we watch ER. This is the episode we didn't know we needed until we witnessed its brilliance. Any true fan of ER will appreciate this full circle moment when an elderly dementia patient is brought into the ER after being mugged. Because of his mental state, he sees the ER through the lens of his 1960s youth. We discover that there's something special about this patient after he helps save a woman from a terrible misdiagnosis by another hospital. This heartfelt episode ends with the special patient leaving the ER trauma room he created during his tenure at County in the 1960s. I challenge you not to cry at the end.

Beautifully sad and endearing

I love this episode the story of the amazing Olly the dying doctor. He sees everything as it was in his day when he started the 911 system and the trauma center the ER has today. It's lovely to see and endearing. It's also lovely to see the mum correctly diagnosed by the great dr Olly in a lucid moment to save her life and keep her with her son. One of my favs of the last season...

Dr Morgenstern

Warning: Spoilers
So far, this is the best episode of the dreadful last season. Cameo by Dr Morgenstern! Great to see another face from the glory days.

The thing that made this episode so good was that it didn't focus on John Stamos, Angela Bassett or any of the other current characters. Sadly, there was still too much of him and his BS, sappy eyed excuse for acting.

Very interesting story with Dr Ollie. Everything through his eyes takes place w a 60's lens on it. Though his mind is still sharp and able to understand his surroundings, he's unable to communicate other than with a pen and paper. Cool story about how he built and started the ER at County, a fitting homage to the last season, seeing where it started and how far it's come.

And then you see Dr Morgenstern who reminds you of all the great actors and actresses that have left the show. Unfortunately with the last 'everybody gather 'round the gurney for a group shot' scene, you're quickly reminded how far the show has fallen given the current state of pathetic social agendas, stories and actors.
