Dr. Brennan says that the presence of mercury fulminate is consistent with the existence of a tannery from 17th century. Mercury fulminate is an extremely unstable compound (much like nitroglycerin) commonly used in percussion caps or cartridge strikers and way too dangerous to be used in any large-scale industrial process. Furthermore, mercury salts, although common in felt production until 20th century, were not used in leather tanning. Last but not least, mercury fulminate has been first produced in the end of 18th century (first described in 1799), at least a hundred years after its alleged use.

At the beginning of part II, when Booth is asking Bones why she doesn't appreciate the ancient appeal of Britain, he says he'd like Congress to make him a Knight. U.S. Constitution specifically forbids any such thing in the last paragraph of Article I, Section 9. And if by some chance the Queen of England offered to make him a Knight of the Realm, it would require a special Act of Congress before he could accept it. But this is just a Booth's fantasy, so lack of compliance with the law is not an error.

Yet Grayson Barasa, a completely unknown person, is somehow allowed to enter and move freely around the secured area.
