Flu Shot (#3.8)
ComedyFan201027 November 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Liz wants to show solidarity to the crew and refuses to take a flu shot, but then her vacation is back on. Jack and Elisa have trouble finding time to see each other because she work so much. Tracy and Jenna who got their flu shots want to do something nice for the crew.

It is not one of the strongest episodes, but in 30 Rock even the less funny episodes are of good quality.

The best part of this one is how they make the sick crew as zombies from time to time.

And the story of Jack and Elisa take the old man with them on a date is pretty good, as well as how he tells it to his son.

That Back-Stabbing Liz!
g-bodyl24 November 2014
This is the eighth episode of the third season of 30 Rock and it's a pretty enjoyable episode. It was funny and it had a clever screenplay. The jokes were above-average and my favorite involved Liz believing her crew members were zombies. Salma Hayek makes a welcome return as Jack's love interest.

In this episode, "Flu Shot," Liz is dismayed when her beach vacation is canceled, but she sticks up for her crew and decides not to get the flu shot. However she changes her mind when she finds out it was not canceled after all. Meanwhile, Jack begins to date his nurse and he tries to make it work despite her working seven days a week. Tracy and Jenna decide to do something to cheer up the sick crew.

Overall, this is a rather good episode. It's another episode in which the self-centered Liz makes another appearance, and these appearances are always good to watch. I rate this episode 9/10.

Salma Hayek guest stars

Warning: Spoilers
Salma Hayek sizzles the screen as Elisa, the nurse for Jack's mom. Jack continues her romance with Elisa on her work hours much to hilarious effect. There's an uprising amongst the TGS crew when there's a shortage of flu shots, and we learn more about elitism and class.

Flu Shot was an okay episode of "30 Rock"

Warning: Spoilers
In this episode, Liz' beach vacation is canceled so she decides to support her crew-who are all working despite their flu-and not take her shot since Dr. Spaceman (Chris Parnell, welcome back!) is rationing them under Jack's orders. Jack himself is trying to get Elisa to go out on the town with him despite her other job taking care of an older man named Douglas Templeton (George Bartenieft). And, under also sick Kenneth's suggestion, Tracy and Jenna resolve to get the crew some soup but go shopping instead. They then resolve to cure them with laughter and dress as clowns to cheer them up...I liked the reappearance of Spaceman especially when he told Jack to pull down his pants as he puts the shot in his arm and when Liz betrays her promise to not get her shot, he makes her dance which is comically lame here. Those scenes with that old man in a wheelchair going with Jack and Elisa on their date were also good for a few laughs. And it was a hoot hearing Kenneth speak French when he confronts Liz with her shot arm and she tells him in his sickened state that he's hallucinating and is speaking to his French mother. The only scenes that didn't work were the Tracy and Jenna ones which seemed to be the result of the writers desperate to get them something to do. Speaking of desperation, Scott Adsit must be wondering if anybody even remembers him in the cast since his second or third appearance this season in this episode was only about a couple of minutes long. Overall, Flu Shot was a little uneven episode of "30 Rock" but Parnell's return merits this at least a 6.
