In his confession, Jack Donaghy (Alec Baldwin) tells the priest that he "once claimed to be God in a deposition." This is a reference to Malice (1993), in which Baldwin plays a doctor who, while giving a deposition, proclaims, "I am God!"
Elisa (Salma Hayek) scolds Jack (Alec Baldwin) for propositioning her "so close to the statue of Santa Lucia, the patron saint of judgmental statues." Santa Lucia (Saint Lucy) is actually the patron saint of the blind (she was blinded as part of her martyrdom, and artistic depictions of her often include her holding her own eyes). This episode also includes a subplot in which Kenneth falls in love with a blind woman.
Maria Thayer, the blind woman with whom Kenneth (Jack McBrayer) falls in love, also co-starred with McBrayer in Forgetting Sarah Marshall (2008). They play a newlywed Mormon couple on their honeymoon who have waited to have sex until marriage and consequently are having a great deal of difficulty with intimacy.
One of several episodes of the series which included blatant product placement in the dialogue, this time for the McDonald's McFlurry.
