Here's another of the Vitaphone musical shorts. Nominally, it's to celebrate Benjamin Rolfe's forty years in show business, starting as "The Boy Trumpet Wonder", and becoming a major recording artist, film producer from 1915 through 1920, then returning to lead a major band.
Some of the tunes covered here are "Happy Days Are Here Again," "Sally in Our Alley", "Swannee", "Hello Ma Baby", and the often lampooned "She Is More To Be Pitied Than Censured." They were old-fashioned songs when this song was made, from Rolfe's heyday, and most are offered in an 1890s-looking venue. It's pleasant, nostalgic fun.
