Young couple Trudy and Gabby just want to start the next part of their lives together after Gabby inherits a cattle ranch, but they get way more than they bargained for when they discover that Rutherford Ranch is home to all manner of supernatural entities and eerie occurrences in the new comic book series I Hate This Place. We have a brand new assortment of horror and sci-fi headed home this week, and there are plenty of offerings that should undoubtedly make for great additions to your Halloween season viewing plans. Universal is showing some love to a trio of classics, as it is set to release John Carpenter’s The Thing as well as Rear Window and Vertigo from Alfred Hitchcock all on 4K Ultra HD today. Skinwalker (not to be confused with Skinwalkers aka Skinwalker Ranch) opens in the Arizona High Country in 1883. Two travellers Benny (Nathaniel Burns; Battlefield 2025) and Hugo, played by writer/director Robert Conway come across a Native American burial site. Benny wants to loot it for items he can sell to collectors. Hugo warns him against it, but Benny grabs a Death Totem anyway. Big mistake, shortly after Hugo is bit by a snake and becomes possessed by the spirit removing the totem freed.
