Buying a new chip
Tweekums19 December 2012
Warning: Spoilers
Haunted by an image of three dots Sarah thinks she has found their meaning when she learns that it is the logo of a company that is working on an AI program. The company is trying to raise funding to buy a new chip from a Japanese company. This chip is needed to run the AI program. Sarah poses as an investor in order to acquire the chip even though it will mean using all of their funds. After the trade has gone ahead it quickly becomes apparent that they have been conned; the chip is a fake… the only question is; who did the ripping off? Meanwhile Riley is having problems with her mission to get close to John and Agent Ellison is investigating the role of Catherine Weaver's AI, dubbed 'John Henry', in the death of Dr. Sherman.

Having missed the previous episode there were quite a few surprises here; many of which were no doubt revealed last week, it was easy to get back into the story though. The main story involving the chip proved to be interesting and featured a moderate amount of action. I was more interested in Agent Ellison's meeting with John Henry though; especially when we see that it is far more than a computer program; it has a body that Ellison and viewers instantly recognise.

Joining the dots together
GameAndWatch2 September 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Sarah enters a game of bluff with a potential suitor for Skynet. John goes back to erase traces of Cromartie only to find his grave has been robbed. Meanwhile, Ellison investigates an accidental death at Zeira Corp. Did the computer do it?

It was a rather silly episode at points. AI engineers working for Zeira never read Asimov at school. Ellison suggests the ten commandments might be a good starting point for robotic ethics. I can understand that from a zealot (one that was happy to see the church in a previous episode desecrated), but I'd have also thought he might have brushed up on his philosophy after being through what he's been through. Why after seeing Cromartie who led a wake of destruction, willingly fetch and hand over his remains to a believer and totally fail to join some dots himself?

The AI miraculously jumps ship in record time (shortly after Ellison's suggestion to pick up the Bible). Engineers can build computer interfaces in this episode at the speed of light. But perhaps it's unfair to grumble about this, I mean, John Connor landed a few years into the future and went from a novice web user, to a network/system specialist in a few episodes.

I was sad to see Sherman's character so short lived.

The maybes are the interesting thing at this point. Did Cromartie spare Ellison as he's a founding father (note he was happy to shoot at him the week before in a car chase)? And is Zeira corp a force for good or evil? At this point, I'm starting to think there will be a war of machines rather than a war against humanity in the future. With the two companies mentioned developing competing AIs.

T:SCC - Terminator:The Sarah Connor Chronicles
kevinwales195528 January 2010
The best series that I have ever watched. It is a story that gives great food for thought and still has plenty of scope for more episodes. It is unlike other series which always seem to be very 'samey' and follow the usual theme. Many fans have written great fanfiction stories on this subject: www.fanfic.net and I love reading them. There has been no end of youtube videos too - they are fantastic and have been made by extremely talented people. Our fans, who call ourselves the resistance, desperately want this series brought back and will never give up doing everything we can to see this happen - write letters, set up billboards, emails. Many things.

Too much going on
LaverneandShirleysucks8 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The previous episode was titled "Complications" and that's an apt title for this one too because the stories are getting complicated with too much going on at once. It's like a soap opera now with all these side stories to follow.

And many episodes have gone by with the new redhead chick Weaver (played by an actress who can't act to save her life) and we still have no clue what her intentions or motivations are. All we know is that she's a Terminator, but is she good like Cameron or evil like Cromartie? Enough episodes with her in it have passed so the audience should be let in on that by now even if the other characters aren't.

I'm glad I got Riley's character pegged right from the start and she is in fact from the future and we learn she's working with Jesse to get close to John and cause distance between him and Cameron, who's suddenly acting more and more human like with feelings and emotions.

The last episode showed that they are in fact changing the future, but also creating new and different timelines as a result. So I wonder if Cameron's change is related to that, because in the beginning she was a total machine, but as they change the future, Cameron appears to be changing with it.

I'm still enjoying the show, but I wish it wasn't all over the place and stayed focused on one main story like in the first season.
