The original title "Orca" refers to the species name in Latin (or English) although in Swedish the animal is called "späckhuggare".
The director confirmed in an interview that the title also alludes to the Swedish word "orka" (to cope) and a theme is that people won't feel good when separated from others.
When (at around 20 mins) Felicia and Solveig refer to the environmental activist Greta, that's understood to be Greta Thunberg.
The director Josephine Bornebusch plays the role of Matilda and her on-screen child Lilly is played by her real life child Mika Zetterberg Bornebusch.
