B.J. Penn vs. Sean Sherk
Maniac-920 January 2012
Warning: Spoilers
While B.J. Penn was the LW Champ already at the time this fight made him the undisputed champion. Penn had beaten Joe Stevenson for the belt at UFC 80 for the vacant belt. The belt was vacated because Sean Sherk the previous champ had to relinquish the belt after failing a steroid test for UFC 73 when he beat Hermes Franca. After this fight there was no question of who the real 155 pound champion of UFC was.

The 2 co-main events were Wanderlei Silva blitzing Keith Jardine and KOing him in 0:36. While Lyoto Machida outworked and out skilled Tito Ortiz.

The UFC PPV that takes place on Memorial Day weekend every year is usually one of UFC's best cards of the year and this one didn't disappoint.

That answers that...

Warning: Spoilers
Like Georges St. Pierre, BJ Penn at the top of his game looks unbeatable (as he did here)- and, steroids or not, Sherk's record speaks for itself. Penn quite simply overwhelmed him. Now, after steamrolling both Jens Pulver and Sean Sherk, Penn has issued a challenge to St. Pierre. He may well be biting off more than even he can chew. St. Pierre won a close but very clear-cut decision in their first fight, and there's nothing to indicate that a return would go any differently (like Penn after his loss to Matt Hughes, St. Pierre, following his shocking loss to Matt Serra, began strength training that has done nothing but make the unbelievably talented St. Pierre look even more unbeatable). As for Wanderlei Silva, his public execution of Keith Jardine makes the possibility of a third go-'round with Quinton Jackson look interesting. Lyoto Machida's almost effortless outclassing of Tito Ortiz means that, somewhere along the line, someone in the light heavyweight division will have to try to deal with him in a title fight (and let's not forget that it was Machida who beat Rich Franklin early on in the going).
