Exclusive: Tim Daly (Wings) and Veronica Ferres (Hector and the Search for Happiness) have been tapped for roles in Unholy Trinity, rounding out the ensemble for the Western helmed by Robert the Bruce‘s Richard Gray. The actors join an ensemble that also includes Pierce Brosnan, Samuel L. Jackson, Brandon Lessard, and Q’orianka Kilcher, as previously announced.
Currently shooting under an Interim Agreement, the film written by Lee Zachariah is set against the turbulent backdrop of 1870s Montana. It picks up in the moments before the execution of Isaac Broadway, as he gives his estranged son, Henry (Lessard), an impossible task: murder the man who framed him for a crime he didn’t commit. Intent on fulfilling his promise, Henry travels to the remote town of Trinity, where an unexpected turn of events traps him in town and leaves him caught between Gabriel Dove (Brosnan), the town’s upstanding new sheriff,...

The two-time Oscar winner makes a convincing play for a third statuette in the powerful story of Nicholas Winton who saved Jewish children before the war began
It seems strange that an actor of Anthony Hopkins’ prestige and acclaim would need a comeback so late in his career but for a few years, the Oscar-winner was stuck in a cycle of thankless sequel paycheques and one-word thrillers where the “and” credit was starting to lose its lustre (Collide! Solace! Misconduct! Blackway!). Within the space of a year he was then Oscar nominated for The Two Popes and won for The Father (his first Academy attention since 1998) and while, it didn’t exactly curb his predilection for B-movies completely, it did edge him back toward substance, with a subtle yet scene-devouring turn in James Gray’s Armageddon Time and now, another knockout performance in second world war drama One Life.

Here’s your first look at the brand new trailer for Charlie Day’s Fool’S Paradise.
The movie stars Charlie Day, Ken Jeong, Kate Beckinsale, Adrien Brody, Ray Liotta, Jason Sudeikis, Edie Falco, John Malkovich, Common, and Jillian Bell.
A satirical comedy about a down on his luck publicist, who gets his lucky break when he discovers a man recently released from a mental health facility looks just like a method actor who refuses to leave his trailer. With the help of a powerful producer, the publicist helps the man become a huge star, even marrying his beautiful leading lady. Their adventures lead them to cross paths with drunken costars, irreverent unhoused action heroes, unpredictable directors, super-agent, and power-mad moguls. Fame and fortune are not all they’re cracked up to be, and the two men must fight their way back to the things that matter the most.

The gang of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia have recently spread their creative wings fairly recently despite now having the longest-running live-action comedy series on television. Each cast member has pulled double duty on the FX show and other projects to varying degrees. Now Charlie Day will be making his feature directorial debut with Fool’s Paradise, which has also been written by him and is starring him in dual roles. The trailer for Fool’s Paradise just dropped and invites you to partake in the madness that is show business.
The official synopsis reads,
A satirical comedy about a down on his luck publicist, who gets his lucky break when he discovers a man recently released from a mental health facility looks just like a method actor who refuses to leave his trailer. With the help of a powerful producer, the publicist helps the man become a huge star, even marrying his beautiful leading lady.

Exclusive: Apple TV+’s Huey P. Newton series The Big Cigar has rounded out its cast, with Jaime Ray Newman (Dopesick), Noah Emmerich (Dark Winds), John Doman (City on a Hill), Chris Brochu (Zero Contact) and newcomer Brenton Allen coming aboard in recurring roles. André Holland leads the cast, with Alessandro Nivola, Tiffany Boone, Pj Byrne, Marc Menchaca, Jordane Christie, Moses Ingram, Olli Haaskivi and Glynn Turman also set to star, as previously announced.
The six-episode limited series, based on the eponymous Playboy magazine article by Argo‘s Joshuah Bearman, tells the extraordinary, hilarious, almost-too-good-to-be-true story of how Black Panther leader Newton (Holland) relied on his best friend, Bert Schneider (Nivola) — the Hollywood producer behind Easy Rider — to elude a nationwide manhunt and escape to Cuba while being pursued into exile by the FBI.
Newman will play Roz Torrance, with Emmerich as Schneider’s brother Stanley, and Doman as his father Abe.

Some movies transport you from your dreary, everyday existence into a fascinating world of excitement and wonder. And then there are films like “Zero Contact,” which make you wish you were taking out the cat litter or regrouting the bathroom tiles instead of watching it.
“Zero Contact” stars Sir Anthony Hopkins as Finley Hart, a billionaire technology guru who, at the start of the film, has already died and left his mysterious final project, “The Quantinuum Initiative,” unfinished.
After his death, a group of people directly connected to Finley are summoned to a mysterious video chat, where they are told to input their secret codes and activate the Quantinuum Initiative. It’s a process that should take all of 45 seconds, but they have an hour to do it, because first they have to dump a metric ton of exposition, debate each other’s motives and get picked off by a...

“It’s been the great mystery in political history of the past 50 years,” said Slamdance Film Festival founder, writer and director Dan Mirvish of the eighteen-and-a-half minutes famously missing from the Nixon Tapes. His campy political thriller out this weekend takes a stab at what might have happened.
Adventure Entertainment opens 18 1/2 today on four screens in NY, LA, and Fort Lauderdale, expanding next week to about 60 including a special screening Wednesday at the Landmark Theatres E Street Cinema in Washington, D.C. to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Watergate. The National Archives is screening CNN documentary series Watergate: Blueprint for a Scandal the same night at a dueling event with John Dean, who was President Richard Nixon’s counsel from July, 1970 to April, 1973. The mother of U.S. political scandals exploded in June of 1972 when five men broke into the Democratic National Committee headquarters at the Watergate hotel and office complex.

The mild initial curiosity stirred by Zoom-shot movies died quickly, because so few of them were watchable, and because filmmakers quickly found workarounds to create more fluid entertainments while still observing Covid precautionary measures. Thus “Zero Contact” arrives as a novelty that’s already more than worn out its welcome, aiming for dubious additional distinction as “the world’s first star-powered feature film Nft.” (It was released in that form last September — whether anyone actually purchased it as such is unknown.)
We’ll just gingerly step around that factoid, as the aptly named “Zero Contact” has plenty of more tangible ways in which it is a steaming pile of nada. Producer turned first-time director Rick Dugdale and screenwriter Cam Cannon’s would-be thriller has five globally-scattered protagonists yelling at their screens during a conference call in which the fate of all humanity supposedly hangs in the balance from some murky high-tech threat.

Zero Contact stars Chris Brochu (“The Vampire Diaries”), Aleks Paunovic (“Snowpiercer”) and Academy Award winner Sir Anthony Hopkins (The Silence of the Lambs). The film marks the directorial debut of Rick Dugdale, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Cam Cannon (Deadlock).
Here’s the trailer:
Starring Academy Award winner Anthony Hopkins (The Silence of the Lambs), this high-tech thriller chillingly reimagines our isolated, virtual world. Hopkins plays Finley Hart, the eccentric genius behind a global data-mining program. Upon his death, five remote agents — including Finley’s son — are contacted by a mysterious A.I. entity to reactivate the initiative, which may enable time travel. As sinister events occur at each of the agents’ homes, they must decide whether entering their passwords will save the world…or destroy it.

"I always expected great things of this world..." Lionsgate has debuted another new trailer for the mystery thriller, wacky sci-fi project called Zero Contact, described as one of the very first Nft movies. We already wrote about this film last year, as they tried to release it on an Nft viewing platform (I don't think anyone watched it). Zero Contact follows five characters all over the world, connected only by their devotion to the late founder and tech titan Finley Hart, played by Oscar-winner Anthony Hopkins. Upon his death, five remote agents — including his son — are contacted by a mysterious A.I. entity to reactivate the initiative, which may enable time travel. As sinister events transpire at each of their homes, they must decide whether entering their passwords will save the world... or destroy it. Years in the making, Kevin Smith’s next film is finally getting released, but only a select few will get a chance to see it. The comedy-horror anthology “KillRoy Was Here” will be available exclusively via 5,555 NFTs.
The “KillRoy” NFTs will be available sometime in the next three months on the Legendao platform. They’ll include the movie, exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, a commentary track, and exclusive art. Viewing access to the film will be unavailable to anyone else without the special “crypto key” the Nft provides.
At this time, this is the only planned distribution method for the film — Smith fans shouldn’t count on being able to catch it in a theater or on streaming.

When a Christie’s auction sold a Nft of Beeple’s work “Everydays: The First 5000 Days” for $69 million in March 2021, it seemed like a trip to outer space or a cryotherapy home spa: the latest absurdist fad of the super wealthy. A year later, everyone loves NFTs: Snoop Dogg is planning to turn Death Row Records into “an Nft label.” McDonald’s wants to use NFTs in virtual restaurants that deliver real food.
Even Hollywood, usually behind the curve on consumer technology, is starting to catch up: Last week, Disney promoted an executive to lead “Next Generation Storytelling and Consumer Experiences,” while Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine signed a partnership with Nft collective World of Women to turn its characters into movies and TV shows.

Updated with trailer and launch date. The trailer for Zero Contact, a film starring Anthony Hopkins that will premiere via a new non-fungible token platform Vuele.
In addition to the trailer (watch it above), Vuele said it will premiere the film, which follows Hopkins’ Oscar win last spring for The Father, via several Nft “drops” beginning September 24. The tagline of the trailer describes Zero Contact as “the world’s first feature film Nft event,” though the space has drawn a crush of interest from a range of film and entertainment players lately.
Chris Brochu has also been announced as part of the film’s cast.

Enderby Entertainment’s pandemic pic Zero Contact (formerly called 92) with Anthony Hopkins will premiere on new Nft platform Vuele later this summer, possibly the first time a feature-length film — versus, say, a basketball highlight clip — is offered for sale as a so-called non-fungible token.
