as this pilot episode goes along, things get much better and much funnier

In its opening moments, this pilot episode of the popular British teen comedy "The Inbetweeners" felt very cliche and mostly unfunny (despite having a few good laugh lines here and there), but as it continued the laughs increased rapidly and I soon found myself falling head over heels for this simplistic and relatable tale of teenage lusts (and laughs). The comedy is definitely raunchy, but it is also witty and the show is much more intelligent than it at first seems to be. The characters are very likable and understandable, even when we're laughing at their own expense. The show may seem distinctly British at first, but it really focuses on themes of a universal nature, especially for those who live in the West and aren't bombarded with much worse issues than mere girl troubles and sexual longing (which is not to say that those issues are particularly minuscule, as they can cause much stress to any young man, especially one that was naturally brought up in a more "privileged" environment). Anyway, this pilot definitely gave me a great first impression and I'm looking forward to digging into this show much more.

It does have it's flaws but I give it a pass, it was the first episode. It did really get better as the episode progressed.
