This film was shown in several LA theaters around Hollywood. Elliot Mintz, advisor to the Beatles, saw it and invited the filmmakers onto his TV show Head Shop, to discuss and show the film. The TV Guide cover features the Appollo 16 astronaut team that was bound that week for the moon and indeed they walked on the moon.
The military costumes were rented from the venerable Western Costumes, an amazing place in itself in Hollywood. The uniform worn by the major had a tag sewn inside saying "Jackie Gleason probably from Soldier in the Rain, and the Captain's costume was tagged George C Scott, probably from "Patton". The gun on the set was real, and it could only be cocked if there were an actual bullet in it. You should have seen those behind the camera scramble around to avoid the gun barrel pointed at them.
