Like most people who have had the unpleasant experience of seeing some of this film, I did not intentionally choose to watch Urgency. The film I was watching on Freevee ended, and before I turned the television off, this film started on its own. The movie was just background noise, so I figured it would be okay to leave it on. Boy was I wrong. Urgency will infuriate you with its incredibly bad screenwriting and acting. All of the actors in this film walk around as if they had a hangover and were just there to collect a paycheck. I wouldn't blame them if my career had come to the point where I had to star in films like Urgency. Why does this film think the viewer would care so much about this corporate buyout? And based on the dialogue quality, it's clear that the writers have never worked in a corporate job before. All characters but especially the main character are intensely unlikeable. Also, there are so many scenes in this film that could have easily been cut. For instance, was it really necessary for us to watch the main character withdraw the ransom from his bank account? My hope for this film is that they wanted to make a "so bad it's good" film, but failed. If this were meant to be a serious film, then I hope anyone who worked on this film retired from the industry shortly afterwards.
