The way he goes through these stories is very methodical and with care. He doesn't try to refute the stories, just tries to offer up some sort of explanation for the events. While one might think it may take away from the miracles of the Bible, one must always remember that the Miracle is still there even if it can be explained by nature. How did Moses know when to take the Hebrew people out of Egypt when he did allowing for their survival, but not for the Egyptians? How did Lot know when to leave Sodom so that he did not get burned up in fire and brimstone? It makes sense that God would use natural phenomenon, his miraculous creation, to cause these miraculous events.

Albert Lin is a great host - he is so enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and clearly truly appreciative of history and of his experience. I really enjoyed watching his super-sleuth adventuring, and seeing places from the Bible in ways I haven't before. Lots of fun, lots of awe.
One sided theory

The documentary suggests that the Israelites didn't cross the Red Sea, instead they crossed the "reed sea" - more like a big marshy/reedy lake. This is unlikely for the following reasons:
1. "Yam-suph" means "sea of reeds". The documentary uses this to suggest that the Israelites crossed a reedy lake. What they omitted, or didn't know, was that the exact same term, "yam-suph", was used for the actual Red Sea constantly throughout the bible (Jeremiah 49:21, Exodus 23: 30, Acts 17: 36, just to name a few). All of these scriptures are undeniably referring to the Red Sea, yet they all use the term "yam-suph" (before translation).
2. King Solomon later built a fleet of ships on the shore of "yam-suph" (1 Kings 9: 26).
This was evidently referring to the red sea because it adds "near Elath...in the land of Edom" which was a port on the coast of the Red Sea. Besides, a lake would be a very strange place to build a fleet of ships.
3. The next day the Israelites saw dead Egyptians "washed up on the seashore".
4. The size of the body of water made it near impossible for it to be a lake. A) Pharoah's entire military force went "down into the seabed". We're talking possibly hundreds of thousands of men that fit at one time. They were all "swallowed up", not a single soldier, chariot or horse survived. Evidently, the body of water must have been massive both in size and depth. It couldn't have been a reedy lake that could be waded in. B) This is the main one. The book of Numbers details a journey the Israelites took that saw them start at yam-suph and travel for many days before ending with them camping at yam-suph. How could the Israelites be by a lake, travel through several cities over several days, and still be by the lake? I only see two possibilities. Either it was a gargantuan lake, or it was exactly as the bible says - they were moving along the coast of the Red Sea. The only body of water big enough for the Isrselites to have travelled for so long and still be by the coast, was the Red Sea.
I'm not anti-science by any means, and I recognise that natural phenomena could be used or perceived as a miracle. But that only applies when it doesn't directly conflict with what the bible says. This documentary attempts to find a more natural and understandable explanation for something the bible says took spectacular, divine intervention.
It's the equivalent of trying to find a natural explanation for how Santa could possibly visit every home on Earth on the same night, December 25th.
You either believe and put faith in the bible and God's ability to perform miracles to save his people, or you don't. I don't see the logic behind taking something the bible explicitly says took divine intervention, and confining it to the laws of nature.

If you're christian, it doesn't take away from the miracles in the bible. As much as one might want to believe miracles are akin to a Harry Potter spell, seeing the possible explanation based in science makes the miracle more realistic. If you're not religious, this uses science and known history to hunt for the truth behind long known myths, much like a detective show.
I honestly came here to try and find information on future episodes, I'm craving more over here!

Disappointingly inaccurate and misleading.

I wondered why they would put a show about the Bible on Disney Plus, but then I watched it and it made sense. They are misleading and inaccurate, trying to disprove the Red Sea crossing. Archeologists have long found the crossing point was at Nuweiba Beach, they've found chariots and many proofs that is the place they crossed. This documentary never mentioned Nuweiba Beach or Mount Sinai or any of the landmarks they've already discovered. This show was looking in entirely the wrong place and surely they were aware of that considering how remarkable the real documentaries are showing the proof for the Nuweiba Beach crossing. Don't watch this garbage.

I need more! Please! I'm still waiting. I love the way that Lin make his investigations. He's very precisely. Love the way that he explain the maps the history,.the civilizations and all his comparisons. Catastrophic events that he took study and meditate to understand. Cultural history from different countries like the Perú Cost. He tried to find a Costal Imperium. I love his artefacts that we can see thorough the earth. They found a 10 years old kid. They found that those kids from 5 to 10 years old was killed alive. They took They hearts. It's a horrible kids sacrifice connected with the big flood in Chan Chan.
inaccurate despite many proofs before this series released

It's disappointing that the show is basically saying that the bible made up the story of the river parting when many researchers already stated they found proof. A mere lake couldn't wipe out soldiers and horses all at once..like the other reviews already stated, the translations that are found were in different parts of the bible but the series never mentioned it which could've debunked his whole theory of it being in a lake. If you want to be accurate, read the whole bible and study it. There are also many insight and research books about the bible as well that has solid evidence. I was excited to watch this but was soon disappointed.
