Perfect Ending
TheMelancholySpirit27 February 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Words almost can't describe just how heartfelt, touching, and wonderful this episode is. It is, in every way, the perfect finale. Well, for the first generation, of course. Tony and Sid steal Chris's coffin after his dad bans them from attending the funeral. Jal gets an abortion. Anwar goes with Maxxie, they board the late night coach to London. Tony and Michele get back together (not totally, totally confirmed, but it happens), we indirectly learn this in Season Seven. Sid goes to New York for Cassie. Chris gets the send off he deserves. The gang have one final get together to share their exam results as a whole. Jal shares a beautiful moment with Chris's dad. All ends with Effy, which sets up the second generation. The writing is superb, the acting is terrific, really good dialogue all throughout, really melancholic, heartfelt moments, moments of sadness, lots of great laughs, dark humour, and all the brilliant, wonderful characters we love one last time. The final hug between Tony and Sid, when Tony says "I always loved you the best, Sid" is truly the perfect Skins moment, and a true highlight of the entire series. The episode is something special. The first generation is by far the best, and I also love the second. They're all great characters and the episodes are usually fantastic from start to finish, and this one has no moments short of greatness. This episode achieves everything it needs to. Every character is amazing, but my highlights for the Final Goodbyes episode are Tony, Sid, Anwar, and Jal. Jal's speech is the most beautiful, heartbreaking moment in the entire series for me. I'd say the moment where Chris dies, but it's shocking and sad, whereas this was beautiful as it was absolutely devastating. This is my second favourite episode after Tony's central episode from this same season. This gets a perfect 10/10 for writing, acting, dialogue, chemistry, melancholy, drama, directing, music, execution, tone, all coinciding themes, and above all, its moments I jut won't forget.

Friends part and new chapters begin.
LW-0885428 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
The finale - Tony is back to his green jumper from the finale of season 1, the gang gather to say goodbye to Chris and open their results. This episode is all about the gang marking the end of their friendship group and heading off to their separate ways, some to Uni, others elsewhere. MGMT music plays and the final scene cuts to Effy now in Tony's bedroom, taking over the room, symbolically being passed on the baton to continue the story in season 3. Anwar finally gets to grow up a bit in this one and get a better storyline, he gets bad grades, suddenly he's interesting. He has to deal with the fear of being left behind as his friends all go off for exciting new futures. Michelle meanwhile tries to guide Jal through her grief with no Cassie around to help. Sketch sort of gets her comeuppance at the end, even though you feel a little bad for her at the end. Poor Jal at the end though sat in the rain by the grave of Chris, what did she ever do to deserve that? The show ends on a mature note, acknowledging that friendship circles do come to an end and new chapters open up in people's lives.

Season Two
ametaphysicalshark19 May 2008
Warning: Spoilers
Season Two of "Skins" is effectively the last season of the 'original generation'. It was a smart decision to stray away from the typical 'let's follow them into university/adult life' routine because this is a show about teenagers and that's how it should always be. Apparently season three will feature Effy, so there's always a way to tie up loose ends with beloved characters from the first two seasons (did Sid ever find Cassie?).

This season of "Skins" was more inconsistent than the first but also had far more depth and quality in its writing than in the first season. Episodes 7 and 9 in particular were brilliant. More depth, more character development make season two of Skins a less consistent but more rewarding experience than one.

7.9/10 (season average rating)

Stealing The Coffin and University

Warning: Spoilers
Anwar's mother asks him if he is masturbating. She checks in about his grades and he says they made a pact to check after the funeral. She jokes again to go back to masturbating.

Tony and Sid hilariously steals Chris and the coffin in the back as Chris's dad and another man have a conversation.

After getting an earful from Michelle and Jal, they put back the coffin into the trunk. Chris's dad and the man slips into the car and the man says let's hope it's the right coffin.

At the funeral all of Chris's friends stand on a hill as they watch Chris being buried. Everyone is teary and it's the first time we see some of the boys cry. Fireworks go off.

The group sits around a campfire to open report cards. Tony did pretty well. Anwar unfortunately didn't meet his goals and he has disappeared from the group.

He has gone inside and Sketch tells him that Bristol is their oyster. They can go to the movies, eat, have sex.

Anwar shows up at the bus station to find Maxxie and his bf. Maxxie tells Anwar to come along with them to England. Anwar says isn't he supposed to worry about responsibilities and his own future? Maxxie says to enjoy London and Anwar gets on the bus with them. Sketch watches as the bus leaves the station.

Tony, Sid, and Michelle sit in a car together. Sid says they have all seen each other naked.

At the airport Tony gives Sid a NYC ticket. Before leaving Tony tells him he loved Sid the best, gives him a tearful hug. This scene is so sad because it reminds me of how once high school is finished that is really the last time everyone has the time to see each other. Friends live in the same area and were able to see each other but now everyone has their own futures. It is the last time you will all be the same mentally wise and personality wise together.

Sid arrives at the station and walks along NYC streets. We see shots of the fashion being sold and what people wear.
