My favorite episode this season.

Warning: Spoilers
Season 2 is a disappointment overall. Even the finale was. This episode however, is the best, and one of the best of the whole Skins series, even. It leaves me wondering like no other episodes did before. And I'm glad it gives Cassie (and the actress who plays her) her time to really shine. It's sad, tragic, even a tear jerker for me sometimes, and completely out there, just like the character(s) it's centered around. I love how the exam part is completely random and meaningful at the same time. And the NYC segment. The only thing I hate, is how the editors weren't able to keep « hometown glory » when Cassie runs around the city, during the coda. On the DVDs, reruns and even Netflix! It kind of ruins that beautiful and haunting shot.

Started off brilliantly, but...

Warning: Spoilers
I would have given this episode a 9 or even a 10, had it not been for the last 10-15 minutes. I was delighted to see another episode focusing on Cassie, particularly as she was on screen pretty much all the way through. Cassie is probably, in my opinion anyway, the most likable character in Skins and my personal favourite by a long way. It was good that the writers had clearly tried to change her back to the way she was in the first season, as over the last several episodes Cassie had become a bit deranged and slightly creepy at times. After all, she's meant to be quirky and gentle, not psychopathic. This was an episode full of emotions (most of it anyway) as it becomes clear that the end is in sight for our beloved group, with the relationship between Cassie and Sid explored particularly well. Towards the end though, Chris dies! Yes, Chris Miles, a fan favourite since the beginning of Skins, actually died. But we didn't get to see the aftermath or reaction to his death, because instead Cassie packed a bag and ran away to New York, where she meets a guy called Adam, whom she chats to for the remainder of the episode. I just didn't see what it added, as I would much rather have had set in the same place, with the group reacting to Chris's death. What's even worse is that from the way it ended I have a bad feeling (having not seen the finale) that I have just seen the last of Cassie, and that she may not be returning for the finale, which would really ruin it for me. To conclude, a good episode overall with more strengths than weaknesses, but could have been improved with a different ending. 7/10.

Warning: Spoilers
Like one of the other reviews on here said it started off fantastic. Then the last 15 minutes made absolutely no sense whatsoever and was in poor taste in my opinion.

First of all, our beloved Chris dies from his hereditary brain condition and we are given, what, all of one minute to grieve before Cassie takes off and miraculously takes a taxi cab from Bristol UK, to NYC (??? if i have the locations wrong someone fill me in please) only to be taken in by some random dude who eventually ends up leaving his apartment indefinitely, writing a letter to Cassie telling her to "stay as long as she wants", while sounding like he would never be coming back to this probably thousands per month apartment in the middle of NYC.

A lot of things just didn't add up toward the end. Disappointing really. I haven't watched the next episode yet but i hope it's better than the last part of this one. The second half of this season has actually been superb after a somewhat mediocre start to the season.

Like one of the other reviews said I would have been completely content with the episode ending in the form of some type of grieving or closure from the group regarding Chris's death. I almost feel as though his character was disrespected from how fast everything moved after he died lol. Like one minute Chris is dead and the next Cassie is at some late night rave dancing with this random dude and it feels so wrong on so many levels. There is a certain "space" that needs to be held when main characters die like that. I understand Cassie leaving honestly been I feel they should have went about it in a different way.

Life gets real.

Warning: Spoilers
In Episode 9 The group finish their final exams and now feel like proper grown ups. Sid even decides to throw a dinner party in Chris's honour, Cassie though still hasn't forgiven what happened completely and she is ultimately unable to cope with what happens next, in the end fleeing to New York where not much really happens. Since when was she a shoplifter too? The relationship between Chris and Cassie is also nicely developed in this one, they are really good friends together and have lots of fun. You do wonder though who is paying the bills for where they live, who's buying the food? Nobody has a job. It's sad though that Cassie seems to get on better with Chris than she does with Sid. Brilliant, just no sound after Chris dies, just staring. He should never have broken that mirror last season... Overall though the final 20 minutes are pretty depressing.

Aftermath of Chris's Hospitalization + Group Dinner + NYC
vivianla28 July 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Cassie helps Chris with changing something for the hole created next to his balls. Cassie says she has seen his penis so many times so don't worry. He gets an erection.

Chris asks if he has to tell Jal about this.

The group have a nice dinner "like grown-ups". Cassie is still angry at Michelle. Sid doesn't help by saying he has forgotten ever seeing Michelle's breasts, the mark near her butt, etc. Chris lightens the tension saying everyone has seen Michelle's breasts. I love the group dinner scene, the vibes are cozy.

Cassie takes off her top t-shirt style. I like the greenish lace underwear she has on.

Chris has vomit on the bed and blood running out of his nose. He has a seizure as Cassie calls emergency. Cassie watches Chris as he dies.

Cassie has gone to NYC. The streets of NYC are shown and are beautiful. She meets a cute blonde guy in a diner who tells her to skip paying.

Cassie follows the guy. She wears a super cute outfit with straight jeans, black boots, a sports jacket. He invites her into his apartment.

The guy has beautiful black-and-white photographs of his previous gf. It sounds like she passed away.

The blonde guy takes her out at 2 am. He asks don't Brits go out? The music pounds and everyone dances.

Suddenly Cassie runs out into the NYC night and the air looks fresh. The guy comes running after her.

Back at the apartment Cassie turns over the photographs back to face forward. She takes off her clothes and climbs into bed with Adam in her greenish lace underwear.

The next morning Cassie finds a beautifully handwritten note from Adam saying he has gone to get photos and it was nice meeting her.
