The first official trailer for Ridley Scott's long-awaited historical action epic Gladiator II has arrived online and it's every bit as epic as you'd expect as Paul Mescal (Normal People; Aftersun; The Lost Daughter) squares off against 3x Primetime Emmy-nominee Pedro Pascal (The Mandalorian; Game of Thrones; Narcos) and Academy Award-winner Denzel Washington (Training Day; Fences; Malcolm X).
As per the official synopsis, "Gladiator II continues the epic saga of power, intrigue, and vengeance set in Ancient Rome. Years after witnessing the death of the revered hero Maximus at the hands of his uncle, Lucius (Paul Mescal) is forced to enter the Colosseum after his home is conquered by the tyrannical Emperors who now lead Rome with an iron fist. With rage in his heart and the future of the Empire at stake, Lucius must look to his past to find strength and honor to return the glory of Rome to its people.

It’s going to be a light fall for network TV, but it’s not all reruns and shows we don’t really care about. Supernatural will be back with its final episodes ever. We’ve known for a bit that The CW was planning on diving back into production on Supernatural in time for a fall premiere, but it wasn’t clear when exactly we would see new episodes. Now, we know. According to Deadline, Supernatural Season 15 will continue on Thursday, October 8th at 8pm Et with its fall premiere on The CW.
We also know when, if everything goes according to plan, the final new Supernatural episode ever (or at least until the inevitable reboot) will air. Mark your calendars for Thursday, November 19th. The CW will broadcast a finale special titled “Supernatural: The Long Road Home” at 8pm Et, followed by the series finale at 9pm Et.

The CW's pandemic-proof fall schedule will get underway later this year.
After announcing it would be acquiring a wealth of shows to keep the lights on until its usual original fare can return to production, we have premiere dates.
World's Funniest Animals will star things off Friday, September 18.
The rest of the premieres will be during October, which is typical for The CW.
Pandora will make it's highly-anticipated return Sunday, October 4, while Iconic DC Character Swamp Thing is set to arrive Tuesday, October 6 with 90-Minute opener.
Don't get too excited: the series was axed after a single season at DC Universe, leaving a lot of storylines up in the air.
The network also has Patrick Dempsey's international thriller Devils on tap for Wednesday, October 7 paired with the sophomore opener of Coroner.
As previously reported, Supernatural begins the final leg of Its 15-season run on October 8, and will be paired with Season 3 of The Outpost.

Exclusive: We’ll be seeing more of Uncle Naseem in Hulu’s Ramy. Laith Nakli, who recurred as the character opposite Ramy Youssef in season 1, has been promoted to series regular for the upcoming second season.
Ramy’s Uncle Naseem (Nakli) is a loud, opinionated, misogynist who owns a successful diamond store in New York, where he gives Ramy a job in hopes of teaching him to “be a man”. Charismatic in his own horrible way, Uncle Naseem has the strength of his convictions and isn’t afraid to stand up (or get beaten up) when he sees something that he feels is wrong.
Ramy is based on the real-life experiences and comedy of Youssef, who stars. Co-created and co-written by Youssef with Katcher and Ryan Welch, the series takes viewers into the world of Ramy, a first-generation American Muslim on a spiritual journey in his politically divided New Jersey neighborhood.

The day might be near when it will be news if an upcoming TV series doesn’t have a podcast to go along with it. For now, add Nat Geo’s “The Hot Zone” to the growing list of series enlisting some audio companionship. The story, which tells of Lt. Col. Nancy Jaax’s (Julianna Margulies) efforts to contain the Ebola virus after its first appearance on American soil, also will be addressed in “American Epidemics,” a Wondery audio series produced in conjunction with the TV show.
Lindsay Graham, the podcast host behind “American History Tellers” and the presidential-themed fiction series “Terms” and “1865,” will head up this new series, which will span three episodes. The second episode of “American Epidemics” will focus on the production of “The Hot Zone,” featuring interviews with Margulies and showrunners Kelly Sounders and Brian Peterson.

While it may seem like Netflix is becoming a destination for endless original content, the latest three series ordered sound very interesting.
The streamer announced Friday that it has ordered The I-Land, October Faction, and Warrior Nun to series, and has even offered up some casting details for one of them.
"When ten people wake up on a treacherous island with no memory of who they are or how they got there, they set off on a trek to try to get back home," reads the official logline for The I-Land the seven-part drama.
"They soon discover this world is not as it seems. Faced with the island’s extreme psychological and physical challenges, they must rise to their better selves -- or die as their worst ones."
