Ridiculous
mjsreg22 April 2020
Obviously the high rating reviews are totally fake.

Basically, all this is is some old movie re-dubbed with some amusing dialogue - that's it.

It may be ok as a YouTube video - the only positive thing I can say about it.

A complete mess
Barely an hour long with bad dubs over unrelated footage. Not even 'so good it's bad. 2 stars just for the curiosity factor.

Was hoping for something a bit better
radioactivesound16 December 2021
Maybe because of the fear of having actors together this concept of dubbing and using parts of other films came into play.

Consists of about 45 minutes of Hell of the Living dead redubbed, 5-7 minutes of past Full Moon film from 2012 Zombies Vs. Strippers, a Corona related news clip or two and 7 minutes or so of new footage and credits.

Was hoping for something better, the ending of this mish-mash was pretty non eventful and non-sensical too is what was most disappointing.

Still was happy I checked it out and the remastered footage of Hell of the Living Dead which I probably hadn't seen in about 30 plus years was nostalgic also.

Not even a movie
wermode17 April 2020
It's a messy mashup of unrelated, former projects and films, presented as a film. Please, Full Moon, just stop.

I wouldn't pay for it...
Wikkid_Gamez17 April 2020
...But as a free watch it was entertaining enough with everything that is going on.

Basically only a couple of actors with the rest stitched together from Donald Trump soundbites, that viral clip of the spring break idiots. Primarily, though, the film is made up of redubbed footage from two old zombie B-movies, Hell of the Living Dead and Zombies vs Strippers... With that said....

I found it amusing enough to actually watch ... The dubbing was decent, for dubbing (I hate dubbed stuff, always messes with my OCD somehow with the words and lips not lining up right) ... Definitely do not watch if you have any kind of expectations as you will be gravely disappointed, however, in my opinion, if you stumble across a movie with a name like this and you actually have expectations then you are some serious issues lol. For the rest of us that like horrible movies and want to just relax with something that doesn't make you think, like at all, then this one is a no brainer lol...

Bad, even by FM standards
peternal12 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Even for a Full Moon film, and the company's embracing of their campy cheesiness, this is a bad one. We've have even the thin strings of plot lines through the Killyjoy and Evil Bong series, but it is absent here. The movie clocks in at an epic 59 minutes, contains about 10 minutes (being generous), of original content with a single character having a phone conversation (and who showers with her clothes on to give you a sense of budget and principles), along with clips of the president and spring breakers thrown in. There's also footage from "Zombies vs Strippers", but the main portion (about 45 minutes worth) is of footage from "Hell of the Dead" (also available on the Full Moon Channel), overdubbed with campy humor (with characters decked out in 70's garb making Uber and Grubhub jokes). So they wanted to be the first to put out a film while we are quarantined, besting out Asylum, the Syfy network, or other horror indies, but this was rushed and of no quality.

A messy video not a movie
SafwatKhater19 April 2020
Any cheap movie from the seventies is away better than this messy work. It is just a voice over video. I believe that they made it as a fresh topic for attracting the attention as a step for the actors and actress to be seen by slight larger film production companies.

Straight Outta the 60s Style Schlock....
jaydoo16 April 2020
As a movie, awful. As a 60 minute diversion...not bad. Corny gags, scary world leader, messy make-up FX, no coherent plot, and don't forget the gratuitous mysoginistic nudity.....

There are a lot (and I mean A-lot) of serious studio movies out this year that are less entertaining than this.

This is not even a movie...
pzct29 April 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I know you may ask, is that bad? Holy Jesus....Yes This is not even a movie. There is no plot in this damn movie. It's just somebody voicing over old zombie films. And the voicing over isn't even funny. Like, I was literally staring at the movie. Not a single smile came on face. I'm not even joking, I wasn't even smiling while watching this trash of a....trash. Because it's sure hell not a movie I usually boost the rating because of the positive sides of the movie, but nope! Not this film Save yourself the time and avoid this trash

These millenial moron reviews just don't get it. I loved it.
impumag4 September 2020
The very definition of a B Movie from the 70s it was great if you lived that time. However if you're a millennial you won't like it because you don't get it everything has to be high-tech bullsh×t to you. You'll never get it just like you'll never know the joy and excitement of finding change in a pay phone while walking home from actual school. This was great my husband and I laughed the whole time.

oboyle226 September 2020
A bunch of old dubbed over movies purposely done poorly for effect. Combine that with the dummies of today and there you have it. Splashes of comedy and gore. An hour of nonsense. It's worth your time.

A Mash-Up Of Movies To Poke Fun At The Corona Situation... Funny, But Could Have Been Better...
P3n-E-W1s317 September 2020
My Ratings: Story 0.50 : Direction 0.75 : Pace 1.00 : Acting 1.00 : Entertaining 1.00 Total 4.25 out of 10.00

Well, I do like a dash of irreverent humour now and again... and Corona Zombies fits that comedy to a tee. In these days of lockdown and near-constant handwashing, we all need to keep our sense of humour. It's also refreshing to have somebody satirising the subject that has taken over the TV at the moment - How many times can we hear that the NHS doesn't have enough PPE... well, I'm sure the Heroes of the NHS would be only too glad to wear any PPE magicked out of anybody's arse. So this was a refreshing and humourous change of pace.

There are only a few people involved in this flick... so don't worry. They adhered to the social distancing. You may also like to note that no toilet paper was misused and not a drop of antibacterial handwash was wasted... In fact, there are only three people in this film. A male zombie actor; a female disembodied telephone actress; and the lead actress - and even though she does a shower scene, they wasted no soap because she keeps her clothes on in the shower and washes them too... what a conscientious lady.

What Charles Band does is interweave two older B-Movie zombie flicks into one by using filmed segue clips and his cast. This works brilliantly as he re-dubs the old films with a more topical and much funnier script. Here, we see the Corona Squad on a mission to retrieve a stolen shipment of toilet paper. I have to admit I absolutely love Argento the crazy squaddie. He's the first to realise how you dispatch a zombie. One of my favourite lines in the film comes when they're trying to kill the zombies and one of them shouts, "Bust a cap in his ankle." There's also a nice dig at the use of gratuitous female nudity... though, as a man find nothing wrong with female nudity. Unfortunately, the jokes peter out in the second half, and that is a shame.

So is it one to watch? I would say yes. At least, the once.

Though be aware it's not politically correct - and let's face it, Donald Trump stars in this movie, so even the politicians aren't correct. So if you're easily offended, I'd suggest staying away from the film. This is a well slapped together film with more than a tinge of cleverness. Taking other peoples films and adapting them to your story is a skill. But adding altered dialogue, and making it appear correct, is clever. Hat's off to you guys and thanks for cheering me up in these tragic times.

If you can stop crunching your gears, then drive on over and check out where this wee little film ranked in my Absolute Horror and Just For Laughs lists.

Take Care and Stay Well.

Cringe
missraziel29 October 2021
Alright I get they wanted to do something during lockdown but why this? It could've been a comedy, something light hearted but instead of a rip off of old movie footage spliced together with and acting and a total abomination was created, ugh terrible on every level.

horrible and stupid
casablancavic21 November 2020
Just like 20202 has been, this movie depicts what this year has to offer - nothing good.

Corona Zombies is lousy in so many measures that I'm not going to list them. But since I was expecting this level of crap, I was not upset.

Just like 2020 is a waste of a year - this is a waste of time as well, howeve it's not the worst movie I've ever seen, nor will it be the last bad movie I will ever see.

Don't expect anything worthwhile and you can't be let down.

Made me laugh
Sergiodave17 April 2020
This 60 min movie is a splicing of two bad horror movies, Hell of the Living dead and Zombie strippers. The first half contains all the best jokes, and there are quite a few of them, the second half, pretty dull. I've seen a lot worse.

Coming to a Town Near You
Uriah4311 September 2020
While in the process of making bat soup a company in China accidentally releases the corona virus into the air which infects some of the employees and turns them into ravenous zombies. The scene then shifts to America where numerous people express their desire to essentially ignore the virus and have a good time based in part on President Trump's suggestion that it isn't that lethal. As expected, the virus spreads and zombies are soon found in all parts of America with one particularly vacuous woman in Santa Monica named "Barbie" (Cody Renee Cameron) having to deal with it on her own limited terms. Meanwhile, a small military organization called the "Zombie Squad" has been formed and tasked with a mission which keeps changing based on each successive failure. Now rather than reveal any more I will just say that this extremely low-budget film is truly as bad as many people have already stated with vulgarity and racism on full display. Yet in spite of the low brow comedy there are a couple of moments which were slightly humorous and for that reason I have given it a score slightly higher than it might otherwise deserve.

Ridiculed about COVID-19! F-!
cjay-483766 August 2020
The film is focused on coronavirus disease 2019 which makes infected people "zombies". So what's fun of that? To taste viewers gory stuff? Oh come on, not this time, OK? In reality, the outbreak is getting more serious.

A bit of Full Moon fun
oddpodshow12 April 2020
I wasn't expecting much from this even though I am a fan of Full Moon movies but this was funny, some original stuff mixed with dubbed clips of other horror movies. It's silly fun, grab a few beers and just switch the brain off. I enjoyed it for its sillyness

There is definitely some funny lines and some fun sequences but this only worth watching if there's nothing better available.
kevin_robbins10 May 2021
Corona Zombies (2020) is available for free on Tubi and was released in April from Full Moon Features. The storyline is about how COVID turns people into zombies and will stop at nothing to prevent humans from getting access to toilet paper . This movie is directed by the legend Charles Band (Puppetmaster) and stars Cody Renee Cameron (The Neon Demon), Robin Sydney (The Gingerbread Man) and Russell Coker (The Gatekeeper). This movie is a mashup of two films with voiceovers from the movies Hell of the Living Dead (1980) and Zombies vs Strippers (2012) with a few ditsy blond comedic segues in between. This is definitely more like Evil Bong than a serious zombie flick so you need to go into this with the right expectation. There is definitely some funny lines and some fun sequences but this only worth watching if there's nothing better available. This movie is a 4/10 for me.

Corona Zombies
jboothmillard2 March 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I became an official voter for the Razzies, aka the Golden Raspberry Awards, at the beginning of 2020, and I was looking forward to voting again in 2021, despite there being no cinemas open in the coronavirus pandemic. The Razzies this year would include films released online, and I received an email of suggested titles that could receive nominations, of those released before lockdown and on digital platforms. Among the suggested titles were a trilogy of films starring characters named Barbie and Kendra, and I could tell just by the poster that this, the first of the three films, it was going to be awful. Basically, Barbie (Cody Renee Cameron) is a dumb blonde who starts a phone conversation with her best friend, equally ditsy Kendra (Robin Sydney) (who does not appear onscreen). The girls notice hair salons, restaurants and other places closing around them, and stores running low on supplies of essential items, including toilet paper. Barbie tells Kendra that she noticed people becoming aggressive as they fight to get the essential items, and Kendra tells her to turn on the news to see what is going on. The news reports talk about COVID-19, or coronavirus, which causes raspatory problems that could lead to death. In some cases, the virus has turned people into flesh-eating zombies. The news shows the attacks taking place in public places trying to stay open for business, including a strip club. The news also shows a squad of soldiers, with some surviving civilians, looking for the source of the virus, which started in a soup factory making bat soup, transported from China. While Barbie and Kendra continue to stay indoors and talk to each other, they give their airheaded theories and opinions of what is going on, how they could solve it, and what they will do when it's over, while they watch everything playing out on the television. Also starring Russell Coker as Corona Zombie. The majority of the film is footage from the films Hell of the Living Dead (1980) (an Italian film which already had American dubbing) and Zombies Vs. Strippers (2012) with new and deliberately silly overdubbed dialogue. The only original material are the scenes of Barbie (and Kendra, voice only) which lasts about 5-10 minutes. The lead character(s) are highly annoying stereotypical young beautiful stupid women, the highly gory effects of the used zombie movie do get your attention, but the entire film being made up of footage from two other (virtually unknown) movies is just lazy. All its attempts to be funny, from the leading character(s) to the silly redubbed dialogue, with "jokes" about recent culture and news, including coronavirus, celebrities, TV, and other stuff, are just awful. This is easily one of the cheapest made (for obvious reasons) and most ridiculous films of recent times, only an idiot will find this funny or enjoyable. You'd much rather be wearing a face mask, constantly cleaning surfaces, and excessively putting on hand gel or washing your hands than watching this atrocious comedy horror. It was nominated the Razzies for Worst Director for Charles Band for All 3 Barbie & Kendra movies (along with Barbie & Kendra Save the Tiger King and Barbie & Kendra Storm Area 51), and Worst Screenplay (All 3 Barbie & Kendra movies). Poor!
