The Goat (#3.17)

Warning: Spoilers
This was actually a pretty great episode. Barney and Robin having slept together and trying to deal with it after is pretty good. both how it affects the two of them and mainly how they worry about Ted.

Barney obviously care more about what Ted may think, since he is very much into bro code. It was a good idea of him trying to get Marshall as a lawyer trying to find a loop in the bro code.

I would hate to see Ted not being friends with Barney anymore. I am pretty sure this is not going to happen, Barney is too valuable of a character for them to lose, so I am curious how they will fix this.

And I want to see more about the goat! This should happen next season it looks.

Another Substandard Episode
slightlymad2217 December 2014
Plot In A Paragraph: After Barney ended up sleeping with Robin following her break up with Simon. The next day, both Robin and Barney want to pretend that it never happened. It ends up being seemingly easier for one than the other. Barney feels he broke his self-written bro code in sleeping with the ex of a friend. So, Barney hires Marshall to be his lawyer. Marshall's task is to go through the bro code to find a loophole that made it OK for Barney to sleep with Robin. Meanwhile, Ted's thirtieth birthday is approaching, for which the gang are throwing him a rooftop birthday party.

Another episode that I'm not thrilled with, and probably won't feel the need to rewatch it again, as the fall out from Banrey and Robins tryst is not a fun watch.

Ted was out of line

The bro code is nonsense first and foremost. While it's obvious that Barney is a womanizer, ted is almost worse because of his lack of self-awareness of his own transgressions towards women.

In this case, Robin is her own person, Barney has, up to this point, embraced Robin as a friend, and treated her with a bit more respect than most women. His terribleness aside, he has more chemistry with Robin than her and ted ever had.

There are no "dibs" when it comes to people. If two (or more) people like each other, despite who they may have been with in the past, than they have every right to see where things can go.

Toxic Ted was just wrong on this one.
