Yamato's clone succesfully located Orochimaru's hideout. The team rushes to get there through the river and soon reach the desert. Meanwhile, underground, Sai finally meets Sasuke. He tries to start a normal conversation, but the Uchiha coldly rejects him. When Sai mentions that Naruto hates him too, Sasuke is surprised, but then he places him under a brief gen jutsu. Sai, recognizes he's feeling fear, despite being an expert in blocking emotions. Sasuke ignores him, and asks Orochimaru to teach him another jutsu, Kabuto lectures him because he has no control or respect for anyone. The Sannin warns Sai to not provoke his pupil and agrees to the request. Before Sasuke leaves, Sai tells him about Naruto's desperate search, and about his "brother" feeling towards him, as Sakura told him. Though he remembers, he coldly says he only has one brother, the man he is going to kill. Then, Orochimaru gives Kabuto the list of the ANBU assigned to Tsunade (Danzo's gift), and leaves to train Sasuke. Kabuto guides Sai to a room, and locks him, when they need him, they'll look for him. Here is finally showed Sasuke's return. But he remains obsessed with his vengeance, or worst. More than two years living among careless cold persons, transformed him. In Konoha he already was a silent dark guy, but he showed to have feelings. Now, he doesn't care about anything or anyone, but himself. Sai thought they could get along well given their lack of emotions. No Sai, Sasuke lives fueled with hate and anger. Anyway, this is what makes the pursue tedious.
